Re: Terrible Experience With OBD-Tuning Pte Ltd!!!

i'm surprised that you go with OBD after checking with many other tuners that they can't do it.

Re: Terrible Experience With OBD-Tuning Pte Ltd!!!

Tks for sharing....almost did with him.....gave me some crap saying that after I remap, I can increased further power by adding piggyback.....until bro WT clarify it can't be done....

Re: Terrible Experience With OBD-Tuning Pte Ltd!!!

This is the msg I got from him

Re: Terrible Experience With OBD-Tuning Pte Ltd!!!

for 18hp increase, unless ur butt damn sensitive, else u won't feel a shit@
better stop talking about sensitive butt, mw will get excited!

Re: Terrible Experience With OBD-Tuning Pte Ltd!!!

Noob here. Is tuning via OBD same as reflashing the ECU?

Re: Terrible Experience With OBD-Tuning Pte Ltd!!!

i am not sure wat kind or expectation interm of 'power' u mentioned. hav u gather enough information from other volvo tunners b4 u go ahead on OBD tuning? Emmmh, coming from a volvo mysef, i would not spend that kind of $ on that 2.0i....

If you want to tune your Volvo, shouldn't you go to a reputable Volvo tuner like Heico? In SG, they are represented by Autovox?

Autovox

Re: Terrible Experience With OBD-Tuning Pte Ltd!!!

Coincidentally I just enquired with him yst about tuning for my X5 3.0si of which the reply was "OBD tuning will give your car extra 20bhp n 25nm torque gain! Faster acceleration, better initial throttle response n saves 3% fuel too!"

Can anyone verify this cos i can't find much online for my ride?

Bro, no offense in this hor...my 130i had 18hp increased and dynoed to prove...I felt every bit of it. 4-5hp maybe not but 18hp plus 20nm torque you WILL feel a significant difference.

I would love to feel ur butt

Re: Terrible Experience With OBD-Tuning Pte Ltd!!!

My advice is take whatever sales talk with a pinch of salt.
I heard even some sellers tell ppl install air scoops got 5 bhp gain...hahaha
At the end of the day, buyers should learn to be more discerning cos nothing beats spending money n then have to kpkb abt it.
Spend money Liao must feel good

Re: Terrible Experience With OBD-Tuning Pte Ltd!!!

I agree somewhat but some of the things, even in the forum, are too hyped up by it's supporters, indirectly raising the expectations of some folks.
Mods have come n go in the forum, together with its share of "wow" threads.
My advice is still the conservative type, best is to find someone with similar specs n have gone for that mod.
Ask for their opinion.
But just a disclaimer, it's not everyday u happen to bump into that same spec person...keke

Re: Terrible Experience With OBD-Tuning Pte Ltd!!!

I think you are all missing a point here. No sane tuner who tunes a car will encourage you to add a piggyback to further increase power/bhp. It is utterly stupid and irresponsible of the tuner assuming that Dave only dones ECU flashes and piggyback systems are done by another party outside. If a proper and complete ECU flash is done to tune the car, you dont need anything else. Adding a piggyback on top of a tuned car is highly dangerous and catastrophic in the event something happens. Then if it does, you got 2 parties to blame. And both of them will point fingers both ways. Ridiculous...

sorry, no offence... volvo go n tune? got the wrong car?

Re: Terrible Experience With OBD-Tuning Pte Ltd!!!

U need to do a dyno with 15 witnesses. MW say one

Re: Terrible Experience With OBD-Tuning Pte Ltd!!!

always get a tuner who do dyno tuning with proven track record with before and after dyno runs, rather than a self proclaimed tuner who download maps from overseas and load into car.

anyway, have u feedback to Dave abt your take on his tuning?
