The Barclays Premiership / Champions League Thread

Re: The Barclays Premiership / Champions League Thread

Sigh. I thought King Kenny would be given more time... a pity :(

Re: The Barclays Premiership / Champions League Thread

im v sad too....
but I wish KD well and we look forward.

Liverpool Football Club will always be bigger than any name.

Re: The Barclays Premiership / Champions League Thread

I feel King Kenny should have been given at least one more season to mould the team at Anfield at the very least...

In fact, he didn't take over a Championship team & screwed them up big time to deserve the sack in his first full season....The harsh reality is, Liverpool is already very much a "has been" team for the past 2 decades by not winning the league title for past 21 years! So to expect him to turn things around within such a short period is probably too idealistic, in my opinion.

Even Alex Ferguson took 5 years to win his first major trophy at Man U...!! But look what he has done for the club now..It takes time...but then again, that's a 'vulgar' word in investors' minds l suppose...

I am greatly saddened by this grave news as a true Liverpudlian. Kenny's departure is a great loss to LFC & millions of fans across to say the least..

Kudos to you King Kenny & wishing you great health...And as always, You Will Never Walk Alone...!!

I feel the board is so stupid to let him go, given that he has achieved so much by winning a Carling Cup.

Like I said, beggars can't be choosers. No fish, prawn also good. This is Pool's first trophy is years, and the Board responds by sacking the man. :wtf:

Ya boz, such a huge achievement and they reciprocate in this manner. What were they thinking?

Re: The Barclays Premiership / Champions League Thread

is really the case of giving KD the time to gel his squad! he should at least be given 1 more season!
the new player should be able to bed in nicely.......wth is the owber thinking???

Re: The Barclays Premiership / Champions League Thread

so sad to sack a legend.

but end of being sentimental. time to look for a new manager.

Glazier family so forgiving, never win league, never win cup(s), still never sack.
just loan more money to finance the initial loan.

6 who could replace him

ANDRE VILLAS-BOAS
DID not last a season at Chelsea but that was seen as mission impossible. He was in the running before Dalglish was appointed and Kop owners rate him highly.

BRENDAN RODGERS
THE Swansea boss, 39, took the Premier League by storm. Although he is contracted for another three years, the lure of Anfield would surely be too great to turn down.

DIDIER DESCHAMPS
GIVEN close consideration on the last two occasions Reds have been hunting for a new manager. The Marseille chief will have his backers once again within Anfield.

RUDI GARCIA
AT 48, the Lille boss falls into the right age bracket for the owners, who want a younger, successful boss. Garcia has won the league and cup double in France.

ROBERTO MARTINEZ
ARGUABLY the brightest of the young managerial stars in the Prem who worked a miracle in dragging Wigan to safety. Right age at 38 and an admirable style of play.

ALAN PARDEW
WOULD hardly be the fans’ choice, but has overcome terrace unrest already — at Newcastle. He led the Toon to fifth and was named Manager of the Year.

Well, didn't read it finely enough when I signed on the most important document of my life.

Now, life-jail-sentence - but luckily, to an angel of a wife I still can't wait to go home to every day :)

Re: The Barclays Premiership / Champions League Thread

they should at least pave the way for him to be Director for whatever so that they can look for another manager to answer.

this is sad news to someone that lift a team to another level in history

but maybe the owner wanted to do it long ago ever since Suarez racist case...
KD become the scapegoat to Suarez silly remarks. When they take over Liv, they wanted to set a global image to sell & attract sponsors/TV deals but there again, by putting KD there as Director, the message may not be well received out of England now.....

so what is what? its still Suaraz that is the bad apple that affect the entire flop...
ever since his case, the team seems to be disoriented.

Sell Him, I think the next cause of action will follow.

Re: The Barclays Premiership / Champions League Thread

Liverpool's Managing Director Ian Ayre said Liverpool cannot “live forever on the past glories..... It doesn’t matter how many cups you win. Ultimately you’ll fail, because if you don’t have that sustainable revenue stream that comes from playing at the highest level it will be more and more difficult to compete.”

Finally a realist.

Re: The Barclays Premiership / Champions League Thread

We need a bigger war chest. And players that prove to be worth the pretty penny paid for their services.

Having said that, KD was extremely, supremely civilised at his sacking. A true Scot & a gentleman to the very end.

YNWA!!!
