Another masterstroke by the experienced SAF to rest his first team and let the second stringers take part in the Capital One Cup which happened to be the last of his priorities. Win-win for his players.

I think being trophyless last season makes SAF wanting to win something this year. I still think it is all too early and Manc and Chelsea are the teams that will probably hit peak at the right time, with Manc likely to win the League for the second time in a row and Chelsea winning a domestic competition. It will be the same old story for other underachieving top clubs who will continue to do so till season end.
