Think twice before buying a BMW

So I bought a 116d. Nice experience and nice cafe, wow, great. And then 5 months later, the car jerked when moving off from a traffic light, loses power and eventually stalled at my workplace. Again, nice service to make up for the surprise that a car this new can require an exhaust gas recirculation valve change. But wait...
1 day later, that's today, tonight in fact, 4th march, I went to collect the car and I find it scratched on the rear flanks. Obvious clusters of scratches, unbelievable yet true. So I have to make my way home without my car again. I refused to accept it.

Thanks PML for giving me a horrible experience and impression.

Definitely not by me. Tow truck driver, mechanics, who knows? But not relevant anymore. The point is, how can they have such a poor handover quality and process?

Anyone getting a Diesel engine needs to know that the dpf regen process needs to be done at certain intervals. Else it will lead to a failure.

It's quite a simple process ironically ....

Yes the likelihood of carbon buildup etc is something to look out for but guess when is the first servicing? 12k mileage. Mine is at 7k and I said, since they are fixing a problem might as well service, I didn't mind it being early. However it was a no. Car computer didn't trigger a service so cannot.

My humble opinion is BMW is for those passionate and understanding. Nippon cars recommended for those do not understand.

Is it recommended to buy custom exhaust for bmw 2. I am considering buying one but I've heard some opinions saying don't do it

custom exhaust will most certainly affect back end pressure and low end power. if its just for the sound, dont think its worth it; been there done that =)
