Thinking of Buying the 323i Highline

Hi,

Been a silent member of this forum few years back, but I am now contemplating getting a 323i Highline from PML.

The best price I am getting from the SE is 159k. Is this reasonable? SE is saying will throw in a V-Kool film at that price as well.

What are your opinions?

Appreciate any comments.

Thanks!

Re: Thinking of Buying the 323i Highline

Hi,
I saw a Jan 06 523i with full original (claimed by the sales person) M5 body kit and sun roof.. I have some queries and hope u guys could help:

1. What is the model for Jan 06 (E90?) and current PML model?
2. Is the engine and horse power the same?
3. Both have 6 speed right?
4. How much is the original M5 kit from PML?

Bro,

1. Both models are E60, although the facelifted (LCI) version is available from April 2007.
2. Jan 06 523i has 177 hp, current model 190 hp. I believe the LCI engine is a new one - more power and better FC.
3. Yes, but LCI comes with the new electronic transmission that shifts gears 40% faster.

Cheers.

Re: Thinking of Buying the 323i Highline

Thanks everyone for all the replies.

Was seriously thinking of getting the 323i Highline but I have currently put the idea on hold. :(

As it has dawned on me, while reading through this forum no less, that the E90 LCI model will be introduced sometime in 3rd quarter of this year?

And also I found a clause in my Hire Purchase Agreement that 3 months notice has to be given prior to settlement, else a 3 months interest in-leau will be charged !?:screwedu:

So doing the math, order now and wait 3 months to get the car. Drive approx. 6 months, then LCI model comes out......well, finally decided to wait.:(

By the way, what is the typically model life-cycle for the 3 series? 6, 8 or 9 years? Just curious.

Re: Thinking of Buying the 323i Highline

It will be no end, my friend ! You wait for another 9 months, by the time, you will be thinking another model coming out ! Don't have to think so much lah, if you like it, just take it, another 9 months, change again. That's life, enjoy life first.

Typical life-cycle for most if not all series is 7 years, with facelift somewhere in the mid of the 3rd yr.

I agree with Jadis.. its just like Apple laptops.. its a lifesttyle thingy.. always dilemma to wait for the later and faster CPU.. there will be no end.. if u like it.. just to do it.. if not now, when?

Re: Thinking of Buying the 323i Highline

i know my buddy has a 323 blue that is only 6 months old. He is tempted to buy a 523, not sure if he is keen to let go cos he will probably lose quite alot. u keen? i am very sure he didnt have any accident, can vouch for it.

Bro,

Can share with financial institution this is that has such an onerous clause? Thanks!

Re: Thinking of Buying the 323i Highline

Getting a 323i is surely a good choice. If budget permits 'cheong' a 325i.
I opted for the 323i because its a 6 cylinders engine. (and no budget lah)
Do an acid test. Test drive the 320 and then 323 you will notice the difference.

I think I bought the last piece of 323 from PML before all these highline variants came about. Well its added features. What's most important is the engine. It a pleasure to drive and I take the longer route home ever since I started driving it.

happy considering.

Re: Thinking of Buying the 323i Highline

I bought a 323 highline last month and enjoying every bit of it. not much diff in power compared to my our e46 325 and actually felt similiar to e90 325 too. i dont rev to 7k rpm.
good price, go for it.

The diff is from 4k rpm onwards... 325 will continue to pull ... while the 323 will start to show "out of breath"... for daily commuting... i guess its sufficient...

Re: Thinking of Buying the 323i Highline

How to improve the 323's performance? any shop in spore can do a good ecu upgrade, DISA manifold and exhaust runners installations?
please advice.
