Tired of doing the "Ironman"

So, I'm sick of doing the ironing (I don't have a domestic help) so can anyone recommend a trusted shop where I can get some clothes pressed on a weekly basis? No need laundry, just ironing... would prefer a shop rather than have a helper come to the house. Delivery is optional, I can pick up.

Anyway, I came across this quote while surfing the Internet for a professional ironing service:
"It's better to have loved and lost than to have to do forty pounds of laundry a week," Laurence J. Peter :lol2:

Re: Tired of doing the "Ironman"

Agree with you bro. Am sick of being the ironman too. I did not mind ironing, just my legs get cramped standing in the same position for more than an hour each time.

Re: Tired of doing the "Ironman"

I have a part time maid to do my ironing & house cleaning once a wk. So, no iron man for me.

Re: Tired of doing the "Ironman"

Men's shirt is ok, design is all the same. Women's clothes is a nightmare, they have 101 patterns, and all different. Always freak me out.
Sorry for OT, good luck to your search oilman.

Re: Tired of doing the "Ironman"

must have ironing credentials then eligible to join...haha

Re: Tired of doing the "Ironman"

Notice the man in the video heaved a sigh of relief after he was done. Unfortunate, he's got enough only for Monday - and no trousers to wear yet :laughlik:

I asked the laundrette downstairs of my apartment if they do only ironing and the guy says, sure thing, it's $2.80+GST a piece. Just come back to collect after five working days!!

Re: Tired of doing the "Ironman"

Must be those franchisees nia that send to the main cleaners to do.
I think u are better of splitting your ironing load over 5 days than paying them $2.80 per piece

that's about $60 per month. After 20 months can go to RWS eat steamed fish. Worth or not ah??

Re: Tired of doing the "Ironman"

get a part time maid.....they charge $10 an hr.

normally they come to my house once a week for 5 hrs to clean n iron. good enuff for me.

one month $200. alternatively get a maid.

Re: Tired of doing the "Ironman"

Oilman, maybe you can specify which area you are located. If I were in your position, I would opt for door-step collection/delivery to save on the hassle of collecting.

This guy also does it quite well.. retracting corded Iron FTW!

Re: Tired of doing the "Ironman"

reading from the title i tot u building your own ironman scaled model. ~ cheah!!!

Re: Tired of doing the "Ironman"

i used to resist getting a maid, as i do not like to share the house a stranger...
i ironed my own clothes since primary 6, (so i got a degree in ironing clothes), and i also hated sunday nites, where i have to spend a couple of hours ironing shirts and pants for the next 3 days, and another session on wedneday nights, for the next 3 days.

after got married, sometimes got to iron for wifey somemore. cannot complain or mumble. sometimes do until sibei TL....also bo bian.

all that changed after wifey was pregnant with our 2nd boy.... she insisted we get a maid and discussed at length over it.
the pros and cons. and end of day, wife wins and she got her maid.
Not a bad move as we are blessed with a good maid and the maid now does all the housework and that includes all the ironing.
i imparted my skills to her and even supervised her ironing it initially, so now i get neatly pressed shirts everyday.
even underwears are pressed too! heehee.

moral of story. get a maid. and the sooner u get used to the idea, the better. MTL.

can spend the time to polish your car gim gim goot goot instead.
