To Keep Or Not To Keep? E46 318 2001 Sedan

Hi forummers

I've been driving my faithful 318IA (2001) E46 Sedan for the past 6 years. Wondering whether I should retain the current car or switch to the e46 coupe or convertible with the inline 6 that's worth keeping. The E46 is really growing on me!

Tough decision man....6 cycl is definitely a much better drive, probably it all depends on which other model that you are keen to upgrade to: if you prefer sedan then maybe choices are E60 520i, 523i, 525i, 530i or E90 323i, 325i, 335i or coupe/cabrio....E46 320ci, 325ci, 330ci or E92 / E93, 325i / 335i (all 6 cycl) - happy searching....

if u still like ur current ride, why change?

buying a e46 coupe or convertible is a different ride altogether, it is more of a lifestyle car. it all depends of ur wants n needs.

if i am you, why not keep the e46 sedan since i presume it is running sweet n well and look for a 2nd car for a short term drive.

At the moment am in favour of the E46's drive even compared to other new BM3s or AudiAs. It's amazing tho how quickly the resale E46s cabrios are snapped up! Maybe that's a sign not to change! :laughlik:

Your right, & the convertible will be more thrilling to upkeep & pamper!
Maybe will do just that & convince my misus to give up her nissan car instead!

I wonder why the e46 has such a great following tho, or is it just my perception?

Yes, E46 is still shiok to drive...........moreover you've already understand your ride in and out (6 years) so probably keep it is the best choice for now........unless there's a really really really good buy........hope you get your 6 cycl in the near future soon..............
