Hi guys, my engine oil lite comes out quite often when im driving abt 600km or a week, and i need to top up 1L of engine oil to it. There is no oil seepage on the flooring, and i just change my oil seals, oil sensor few mths ago. Any advise on this? Im currently driving a E90 of 8 yrs old

Check if your Pcv valve is clogged.
Or leaking. It might be sucking the oil vapours into the engine to burn excessively causing the loss

I changed mine
Yours likely the Pcv is part of the valve cover and needs replacement by now.

May i know PCV stands for wat?
How much damage did it cost u?

Positive crank case ventilation
Later model Bmw after 2008 has this as part of the engine valve cover.
Around 600 to replace make sure good quality Ones. And around half a day or more to replace. Labour and the cheap ventilation hose after it

Thanks for the info, bro

Perhaps one way to check is to go to tony

And open the engine oil cap when engine is running. And attach a meter to see the vacuum pressure. E90 n52 engine should be around -30mbar +-10%

Not sure about e90 4 cylinder n46 specs

If out the. Likely it will be a Pcv issue to be fix also.

If Pcv is clogged if can also see the engine idle not very steady when you start the car. Up down rpm also could be observed. As another symptom.
The Pcv is design to suck out some air at a Low vacccum from the back of the pistons. Engine block where the oil sump is to release pressure and not to also release into the air due to pollution. But to take it back into the intake manifold to be suck in and burnt again to be cleaner exhaust air.
The Pcv regulate the pressure and if jammed could be allowing too much to be sucked into the intake. The oil vapors will be burnt excessively. Causing engine oil to be lost

Go read it up more. And Google it for Bmw

For me, it was every 5K, then 4K, then finally every 1K. Similar to yours, no external signs. Change whatever you have changed but oil still disappearing. Finally changed the valve seals and solved the problem. Parts + Labour below S$200. Hope this info helps
