Transmission & incomplete combustion

Anyone can share experience of these problems?

When driving in normal mode, the engine is not responsive when I try to rev from 2k+ rpm to 3k rpm. If i step harder, there is a sudden jump, i.e. to 4k rpm

There is also the problem of incomplete combustion....exhaust fumes smelly at times. FC doing 6km/l

Not sure whether I have these problems 'cuz I change the exhausts....am on an E85 z4.

Any advice is much appreciated.

Re: Transmission & incomplete combustion

Try doing a transmission control unit reset first.

Your transmission may have learnt your previous driving style so it doesn't hold the revs in gear high and long enough before it upshifts.

You can do it yourself, search for it.

Thanks! Sounds easy. Will be good if that solves the problem
