Nice pics and rims! One of the designs I've shortlisted for my car.
The gap between the rims and fender is just what I'm looking for.
Is your ride lowered? Can advise your rims' size? Tks

The rims i got is 18", ride not lower.

Try changing rims first to see if the gap is desired before consider lowering

Damn Cool.. How long is the journey man? Pls advise. Nice resort

Total trip: 6D5N

1st day - Singapore to Hat Yai,
2nd day - Hat Yai to Koh Samui,
3rd and 4th day - R&R at Koh Samui,
5th day - Koh Samui to Penang,
last day - Penang to Singapore.

If you wan to spend more time at the resort, you can compress all the driving to 2 days. 1st day Singapore to Surat Thani and last day from Koh Samui to Singapore. But for this either you are season road trip traveller of have rotating drivers.

Re: Trip to Koh Samui

Hi; Dont mind i hijacked yr thread to share some of our photos;

Day 1:

Started at 6am from esso with 2 other friends; Reached border at about 1pm with a few toilet and petrol stops. Stayed at novotel hatyai. For Thai border crossing, need proof of ownership ( log card ) and 3rd party insurance. I did border extension with AIG for my car for $100.00 for this 6 days drive.

Re: Trip to Koh Samui

DAY 2

Left hatyai for Don Sak Ferry Terminal;

Stopped by Thai police on the way who told us that thailand uses metric system and so speed is in km per hour. Also told us that right lane is for over taking over. Kind enough to let us off.

Cant make reservations for ferry at Don sak; Ferry is hourly but locals with reservations get to go first. Waited 3 hours for our turn; Lowered cars may have problem loading the ferry.

Re: Trip to Koh Samui

DAY 5/6

Started our journey early at 5am to rush for ferry. However, 1 car has a puncture. We tried using electric pump, then foam which exploded in our face.
Finally woke up a local tyre repair guy to seal the hole.

Continue with ferry crossing after delay but the Car was not driveable above 100kph cos of violent vibration ( due to imbalance foam distribution we think).
Look for a tyre shop along the way on main land but shop could not solve the problem. Proceeded to penang none the less.

Next day, went to a big tyre shop to get problem fixed. Continue to drive around penang visiting the hills, the scenic dam as well as stopping for durians before driving back to singapore.

Total distance about 2800km and a very very enjoyable drive.

Strongly encourage all of you passionate drivers out there to do this drive.

If have chance to go, I prefer to use the e39 old horse for long journey, able to do some exercise on my left leg.

Ai Mai? Ai Khee Mai?
