sorry... its a 520i

best bang for buck is swiss chiptech and the next is kellener sports - both are plug and play piggyback for f10 520i n20 engine

check with autovox, j4c and cocoworld - all are sitesponsors

Re: tune up for F10

Pump V-Power

Re: tune up for F10

best tune up is larp M5 kit. Str8 away feel like 500 horses

Re: tune up for F10

In the first place, ask - how much are the improvement in numbers? Versus the cost. Bear in mind it is not gonna turn your ride into a 535 just like that........

Re: tune up for F10

In that case, should save up to buy 555.

Re: tune up for F10

I am the only 555i Triple Turbo around. I da man

Re: tune up for F10

If some workshops offer to charge you a few hundreds or a thousand or two for a puny 10-20 horses, ask yourself if it makes more sense to spend it on handling - from which you will certainly derive more driving joy.

Re: tune up for F10

Tmc tuning kit. $850

Rated 230+hp after installation.

I believe the numbers because I did acceleration test and it was indeed faster.

Don't expect it to accelerate like a 535i, but it is a major improvement.

Look for greg at autostrasse.

Re: tune up for F10

Any dyno chart?

Re: tune up for F10

I would rather upgrade the suspension parts to ///M5 & lower the car with coilover. As least i could cup corner faster than a tune-up car.

with those tuning u will lose out on ur low end right? correct me if im wrong..

Best is to see the pre/post dyno charts on curves' shape and shift to determine. 50+ horses is not bad on a 520 !!!

Re: tune up for F10

520i already beats the old 523i off the line. Just debadge your car... ;)

No dyno chart, but I took videos of wot acceleration from 60-140km/hr. Did a before. Then after with low setting, then with recommended setting. Then got the time to accelerate from the videos. Difference is very big.

In fact, difference at low and recommended setting also very significant.

IIRC, stock 90-140 was about 8.8s, after installation of tuning box was about 6.1s. Did the test quite some time ago, cannot remember liao. I downloaded some 528i acceleration videos from youtube and found no difference in acceleration time. In fact, the 6 pot 528i was actually 0.5s slower than the 520i with tuning box...but since videos not taken with same load, condition and camera, I guess it might be biased.

Must be honest though, I know one fellow forumer who felt his 535i became bo lat AFTER installing tmc...

No lost, but also no gain at low end. Honestly, if just daily driving and sticking to below 2k rpm, I doubt will ever feel any difference.
