Re: Turbo-charging E46 M43TUB19

bro,
Bit the bullet, get a used 335i......no worry.

To be honest, even 335i also have turbo issue....

I came to know 1 shop that do custom turbo.....small turbo (no sure what brand) but everything all make by the shop themselves, quote ~ $3K just for jap, korean car. eg. chev Spark. The power is unbelieveable but not sure how long can the engine last....sp careful.

Re: Turbo-charging E46 M43TUB19

TS,

stop you? easy :)

I've had 3 different K04s in my car before.

Stock S3 K04, Owen's Hybrid HTA65 K04, Loba Motorsports LO400 (Hybrid K04)

0.5Bar BOOST on a K04 = :juggle:

To sum it all up, if you're gonna run 0.5bar boost on a 1.8 4-Cylinder engine, i strongly suggest you to dont bother doing it.

Alternatively, 0.5Bar boost will be more effective on a K03 Turbo.
0.5Bar K03 > 0.5Bar K04

Just my humble 2 cents :)

Re: Turbo-charging E46 M43TUB19

The most important question actually is if they have ever turbo charged a bm before. Using a k04 on ur car, is the powerband what u ate looking for? 1.9l single cam I suppose u are using z3 engine??
I turbo charged my car b4, no need to chip it at .5 bar boost.

Are u running manual or auto?? If auto torque converter confirm spoil. 101% sure.
118hp - 170hp?? 52hp increase? No way dude.
Got intercooler anot?
Stock injectors to run 170hp??
Bro ur engine confirm spoil.
Will choke most of the time.
Ur car if wanna run that kind of boost must use another ecu. Ur stock ecu cant cater for that kind airflow.
Ur injector cannot keep up for sure.

Also tu engine got advanced timing, if ur ws dunno bm my advice is don't do.
Not all continental are built the same.

U should think thrice before going ahead
