For local use, what do u think is a good kart brand for chassis factoring in availability of parts and dealer support? I got a new Interprid chassis 6 months back, but don't seem to gel with it too well. If I do bring back my karts, I will need new support channels altogether!
Hi Clarence, I remember how you like stats and logic. So in my biased opinion.. best team for you Veritas Racing (Zanardi karts). Reasons: World class karts and equipment, strong emphasis on real quantification (setups, data, laptimes, race results), huge spares stock, and one of the highest crew:driver ratios = max drive time (especially for people who value time heavily), driver and vehicle development using philosophies and processes directly from pro automotive racing of international standards.
Zanardi (Italy) - 5x CIK-FIA World Championships won in the last 5 years, 4 of which are exactly the same classes raced in the Singapore national championships. This year just a few weeks ago won the European KF Championship and the KZ Championship as well. Over 15 WSK International, European, and German Championship wins over the last 10 years.
But it's not so much about the hardware as it is the team that runs it and works with the drivers. So:
Veritas Racing (Singapore)- Quadruple national champions in just 2 years, despite being one of the youngest teams around along with youngest owners.
2012 - Master class national champions and 2nd runner up in Cadets 2012 despite only running that driver for a partial season in his first year of racing.
2013 - Triple national champions (Cadet, Junior, Masters) out of the total 5 categories. In a fourth category (Veteran), 2nd runner up. Not entered in the Senior category. So in 75% of all classes entered, Veritas Racing outright won. 100% of all classes entered, it fared no worse than 2nd runner up. All this was achieved in 2013 which was by far the all-time peak of karting in Singapore, with individual grids regularly 15 - 20 strong, with total drivers at 60-80 and 7 teams in total competing in races across the year.
2014 - Veritas Racing is on track to win 100% of all class championships it is entered in.
It's not just about racing either, since roughly half of its 35 drivers have never raced; they just drive for fun and enjoy measuring and working on driving efficiency. Arrive and drive.
