Tyre advice

Yup. I think CSC5p is lighter and has a lower rolling resistance........it is sensitive to certain type of road surface (light gray) for noise. Quiet on all others.

The wet performance I think is better than PSS.
RBB, thanks for feedback on CSC 5P. Doing some research on them as well. BTW, their specs:

Re: Tyre advice

I had it weighed at the shop once with the same set of rims. But the specs shows a 450g difference for. 265 width tire.

Could you weigh it if you had a chance and let us know ?

If they have a scale, sure. BTW, most likely will go PSS since looking at 275*19", maybe 285. CSC5P less options in terms of vendors (PM if have good lobang), no 275 size and not as good threadwear. Just normal driving style so PSS looks to be better option.

Re: Tyre advice

I am on CSC5P... the grip is good for both dry and wet... but wear rate is high... might try PSS or GY ASY2... either one to go first is fine as I want to try out all eventually...

Re: Tyre advice

My E90 buddy also looking for tyres , got quote for Conti CSC 5 less than 1600 and Michelin PSS less than 1700.

Re: Tyre advice

Anyone on the GY ASY2 ? How the road noise and wear rate ?

Was on GY ASY1 previously ...... Roars like the lion. And wear rate is like the speed of light.

am on GY ASY2 19'' staggered. previously on ASY1 and PSS.
used for 30k mileage. My 2 cents

comfort/noise: PSS: 8.5/10 ASY1: 3/10 Federal 595: 1/10 ASY2: 7/10
sound is manageable, give and take since im on 19''. Compared to federals and ASY1, its A BIG JUMP

dry grip: PSS: 9/10 ASY1: 6/10 ASY 2: 8/10
dry grip is pretty decent, braking distance and rolling resistance is good too. Not that far off from PSS. honestly dont feel much difference unless pushing through corners. ASY 2 degrades pretty badly after 30000 mark though.

wet grip: PSS: 8.5/10 ASY1: 5/10 ASY2: 5.5/10
wet grip got noticeable difference between PSS and ASY 2.
On my NSH run the car skidded at 120 while taking a slight right. Didnt feel that confident as compared to PSS.
thats where the biggest difference was.

my 2 cents..

overall, value for money in sg context. i'll buy them again.

Re: Tyre advice

Hi there, noticed many threads mentioning the PSS as the best non-RFT tire. How bout the PS3, any comments as I used to be on the original PS and loved it... thanks

Re: Tyre advice

Discussed before. PSS is a notch higher than PS3.

Re: Tyre advice

I had CSC 5p on ex ride... an E90 M3.... hated it for 500km.... junked it for PSS and it was night and day difference both wet and dry traction.

no horse run....

wonder out loud... why squeeze the few $X00 savings to buy a cheaper tire when your car's value (body, coe, mods, sentimental value...etc) + occupant safety + driving comfort etc worth so much more.....

Many ppl thought PS3 should replace PS2 as their model no is in sequence.
But fact is PSS replace PS2 while PS3 is replacement for another tire one rung lower than PS2.

else try Pirelli Pzeros
Good tires but wear rate is typically 220 if not wrong so is one of the fastest wear tyres.

Re: Tyre advice

think i'll take PS3 then since i dont think i hardcore enough for PSS....
anyways, what's the price range for 19" staggered huh? $1800 maybe?

PSS 19" staggered tyres are around 1.8-1.9k... PS3 around 1.5k+

my understanding PSS is not replacement of PS2
and still many PS2 available and produced
PSS is another cat

Re: Tyre advice

PS2 are out of production already. the last batch was the N3 batch, 2010 manufactured . what you see now on the market should be leftover stocks that are on clearance. PSS are being brought in to replace PS2 and PS3 are brought in to replace pilot precedas.

Re: Tyre advice

How about TOYO - T01R ?
