Anyone can advise if fitting 205/50R17 Bridgestone Potenza S001 on 17 x 7.5jj rim will stretch the tyres too much? profile too thin?

I don't think so because F20 116i comes with a 7jx17 rim with 205/50 R17 tires...
Therefore, with a slight difference of 0.5j, should not be too tough on the tires...

now on 16" - iirc, 205/50/16, so cant compare ......

for e36 i will recommmend 215/45/17.
dont see the reason why should you go for lot less common size 205/50/17

Currently driving E90.
Tyre size:
Front : 235/35R19
Back : 265/30R19
