Hi keny,
I am also thinking of upgrading my "BMW Radio Business" cos it's really lousy.
So you did not change your HU and just connect several amps in between the HU and speakers?
What is your original system? Business or Professional? And is there a very significant improvement in the sound quality after your upgrading?

Well, from what my installer tells me, it seems that the radio system is integrated into the total idrive package and its not advisable to change the head units.
Saying this, your next solution would be to use your original head unit but get a line converter to get some rca signals so that your processor or amps can use.
Just changing the speaker would give you some improvement but not much as the power from the original headunit would not be enough to really power them.
A simple setup would involve running something like a LC6i to get your rca signals, then an amp to drive your new door speakers and probably a sub in the boot.
This would be the most simple upgrade and after this, the sky's the limit.
Price would depend solely on how much you are willing to spend.
I would advise against changing the under seat woofers but instead recommend taking the $$ and putting in new subs in the boot or parcel shelf.

Seems like most of the forumers got a sub whenever they upgaded their ICE.
Talking about "under seat wofers" i dun think E60s have it other than those specified with Radio professional or Logic 7 right?
Just for laugh, i brought my new car 1 yr ago to a "radio shop" nearby my house only to be turnrd away by them saying that they are worried that my car may not start after they worked on my car's wiring.
And i thought that the end of my hope of upgrading the ICE .... until i hear from so much bro out here doing upgrades successfully.

i know of M5 owners who have no qualms going to the likes of sam, cartoon and hong guan...

You will also need to get a converter to get some RCA signals and amps to drive your new speakers.
If you just change your speakers, then the power from your head unit will not be enough to drive your new speakers.
After this, it one long journey to audio nivarna.

Hi guys,
I just installed a pioneer woofer , nearest area front passenger seat bottom, a bit obstructing the back passenger seat , but still ok. Now my problem, the i drive will show high discharge of battery everytime the car is not used for about few hours, eg every morning . But no more fault message will show after i restart the engine. Daily working use, no fault message
went to PML , they told me earliest mid july appt. SA say still can use.
anybody had this experience ?

its the active (built-in amp) underseat subwoofer type?
you diyed?
if not, juz go back to your installer/find another better installer... think they tied the power supply direct to one of the fuse point or tap to cig socket point ...
think they tot ur car is Japanese corolla/civic, where key off, most power supply shut down...
bmws power supply don't work the same way.
simple power cable rewiring job, i believe. nothin much to worry, but better get it resolved quickly to avoid premature aging to your batt.
