Dear members,

Have anyone come across such problem for E36 320.... in Pick up n when accelerating the body felt HEAVY n only feel the power after driving above 100km???? Some workshops had diagonised the problem using the Computer n told me that my O2 sensor is faulty.....need help Badly... Thanks... Had driven before E36 318 n E46 318 but the drive iso much more powerful n better.... many regards:juggle:

Re: Under Power!!!

Yes O2 sensor is the problem. Go and changed it then u will feel the difference. Hello friend the 318's u drove previously are 4 cylinder and the engine is light, moving off is bit quicker than the 6cylinder but runs out of puff early, the e36 320i is slow of the mark plus the transmission ratio is lethargic a bit for slow drive, but once on the run heheheeh it just pulls and pulls till top end. Poking ppl at hiways on 6 cylinder ehhehehhe wonderful.

Dear Friend,

Thanks for the advise... will try to get the O2 sensor fix... but the workshop machanic kept telling me that O2 SENSOR hardly have problem.... but my car Idling keep going up n down from time to time when station.... Regards...

Re: Under Power!!!

O2 sensor a hardly problem on other car make, but for an elderly BMW's is a common thing which i also hard to believe. Try change the O2 sensor first then see if the car can return back to normal idle. If idle still cannot stable, check on the idle control valve and other connecting hoses that could cause vaccum air leak especially at hoses from air filter to air plenum intake. Idle control can be serviced by cleaning it with WD40, the valve inside could have some carbon deposits built up causing difficulty for it to turn open and close. Here's a link where u can find more information http://www.bimmerdiy.com/e36
