I tried a modified 1 series with exhaust changed and a 20" rims and it feels super underpowered even when I floor the accelerator, the vehicle doesn't pick up speed.... Is there something wrong with the engine?

Re: Underpowered 1 series?

There are many variants of 1 series you have to be more specific? 116, 118, 120, 135?

Under powered compared to?

Re: Underpowered 1 series?

What model? 116? The exhaust changed to straight thru is it? Low end torque sure suffer big time.

Maybe try 22"? The bigger the wheels, the less car weight per unit of rubber, hence it should go faster.

Re: Underpowered 1 series?

116 must drive with a/c off. its in the instruction booklet.

Re: Underpowered 1 series?

What 20" rims are those?

Didnt know 1 series wheel arch can go with 20 rim. Anyway the mod may just be for the look and not for performance. So a stock 1 series of the same model may be even faster due to smaller rims etc....dun be so suprise that u see a bmw that look aggressive must be fast.
Have brembo + bodykit plus splitter whatever means the car is fast? Not true also.....

Like this upgraded huge wheels, must shaved off about 4 seconds from the century sprint.

The 116i can be tune to achieve 220-230hp with a simple direct Ecu flash. Problem solved!
Sure or not?

That's even more powderful than JCW.

Re: Underpowered 1 series?

Hi David, check it out. All new models can be tuned in Singapore without any flash counters.

My car came with upgraded 118i ecu software. Results are on wheels.

Re: Underpowered 1 series?

If the 116i is upgraded to a 118i software, it is possible to achieve 200-ish wo hardware mods. IIRC, Codew**X was one of the first few ws that was able to do so and the results were pretty much amazing when it was tested with a stock SLK250. It actually pulled slightly faster to 100.
