Urgh... Engine malfunction

Re: Urgh... Engine malfunction

it is normal.....mine failed abt 100k too.....

My car limped to my trusted workshop and got it replaced on the spot.....damage slightly cheaper than yours. I think what pml quoted is quite reasonable considering it has 2 yrs warranty.

Re: Urgh... Engine malfunction

U all very lucky, mine valvetronic failed on me at 60,000++km mileage and was replaced under warranty. Dunno how come mine so fast failed....

Re: Urgh... Engine malfunction

Mine is 51k now and the tick tick sound is very loud..not sure its sign of servomotor going up the lorry?

Ok, guys, update time.

Got my car back today in spick and span condition. Total damage $1,076.75 incl GST.
Breakdown:
1) Replace actuator for eccentric (I like the description) shaft, WT servomotor, profile gasket, seal flange, hose clip and some testing and checking - $885.31
2) Programming/ encoding control unit, quick delete, initialise tyre fail indicator and power windows, adjusting steering angle sensor and battery reset - $121.00
3) Car wash and vacuum - FOC
4) Towing - FOC

Warranty of the motor is 2 years, which I think is great.

Price reasonable & have a warranty of 2years! buay pai lar ~~~ Glad all goes smoothly & well for u..

I must thank gr8golf88 for letting me use his 30% discount accessories voucher. Unfortunately, it cannot be used as it was meant only for accessories. Nonetheless, I am very grateful for his kind gesture.

Most welcome bro. Glad things work out well. The white M3 you drove looks damn chio!!! :p

Was advised that the valvetronic motor needs to be replaced. Damage abt 1.2k. Is this price reasonable or I robert liao?

Same thing happened to me today. Mechanic repaired it for $1.1k including labour all in. Not from PML though..

Re: Urgh... Engine malfunction

Hi Bro,

I got this error icon yesterday... Can't drive using auto, have to force to use manual to make the car move, and feel totally powerless, and can't drive beyond the 60km/h... Heading to workshop tomorrow, hope the damage is reasonable... Just got my gearbox problem fixed 2 weeks ago... :(

Sorry to hear of your car trouble, bro pengful, and congrats on getting the problem resolved quickly. I'm surprised that PML didn't help you top up washer fluid for additional $10.20 before GST, hahah.
