Very bad FC!

Re: Very bad FC!

Believe it is how you drive... heavy or light foot. Am getting 9.3 km/l even on 18" staggered 235 F/ 265 R. Same as before when I was on 17" RFT.

Due to transmission? Questionable.

I used to get average 10km/litre for my 320i, usually travel between 500 km to 530 km on a full tank, till the yellow light appears. Anything distance above 10 km, I considered it as a bonus. Well, it depends on your right foot too ....

More importantly, enjoy your ride ,,,,,

my E90 Y2006, ave FC only 7.5km/l. 100% urban drive. very bad indeed

Re: Very bad FC!

Wow, that is bad. Better set my expectation and not hoping for miracle. LOL

Not bad already lah. My E39 520 hardly exceed 7km/L with 100% urban drive.

Re: Very bad FC!

wouldnt say i have a heavy foot but i like to let it puurrrrrrrr once in a while. getting about 10.5-11L / 100km with 70% urban drive.

FC depends alot on the driving style, load - number of persons and also ur barang barang in the boot and backseat, as well as tyre pressure - higher the better!

Re: Very bad FC!

My E90 320 get about 9 - 9.5L/100km on 98 fuel and 9.5-10L on V power. Quite funny how come get better FC on V power. If on 95 get only 8L/100km.

Re: Very bad FC!

The funny thing is my previous ride which is VW 1.8L Turbo, i can get 9-10KM/L.
I did not alter my daily route which is pretty much the same and I don't think my driving style has changed. I can say i drive quite conservative as I am in the midst of running-in my ride. So don't tell me that BMW E90 2.0L NA engine is not as efficient as VW 1.8L Turbo?:shakehea:

NA is nvr efficient in start-stop traffic as compared to TC. Anyway, who cares about FC when u driving UDM?

wa. reading some posts here machiam got to guess code words like that. NA = naturally aspirated, TC = Turbo Charged, UDM = Ultimate Driving Machine?

Paisay. let me know if my interpretation is SL becos my ENG not PDF enough. only study until A level and no PHD cos no money to further study. :)

just joking. :)

I am on caltex 95, not heavy foot, rev range between 1000-3000rpm. 9L/km is ~11km/L. Far far better thn mine 7.5km/L. I wanna how u get this FC:goodup:

Maybe u could try shell 98 since if I use 95, I get bad FC too around 8 - 8.5km/L only. I'm not heavy footed too, mostly below 3000rmp.

Re: Very bad FC!

Yup RON 98 typically fuel gives better FC.

I just pumped a tank of V power. Let's see if it makes any major difference.

will update mine as well...........................just pump V-power last week........

cheers

Re: Very bad FC!

So far I had the best FC with Esso 8000 on my old E90. Never tried V power. First time trying V power today, but on a brand new car. So very hard to tell yet.

Re: Very bad FC!

I am on caltex platinum 98.. Hmm.. Let me try V-power for my next tank.

Re: Very bad FC!

V-power in theory, will give you worse FC due to the formulation of the additives and base fuel. It's supposed to burn faster to provide improved engine and throttle response so something has to give.

Re: Very bad FC!

So far didn't really calculate the FC for my E90 325i

But usually I do a check whenever it reaches the 1/2 way marking.. it travel approx. 280km whenever it reach the 1/2 way mark...

As 2nd half the needle will go down faster.. so I assume it should be another 220-240km before the light come out.

I am using Shell 98

Re: Very bad FC!

Shell RON98 give me 8.9 ~ 9KM per liter & reserve tank light will lid up @ 450km ~ 480km usage with about 80km remainding. 50/50 road usage.

V-power I can only get 450km & reserve tank light will lid up with about 80km remainding..

Am using M star spokes 18'' rims with RFT (Front 225 / rear 255)

Cheers ~~ :)

Just fill up and got 9.3km/L on shell 98. Also realized that v power is on special this weekend only, it's the same price as 98. Petrol station uncle said offer ends on Sunday.
