Hi all. My BMW 523i have very weird abnormalities.
Symptoms when car is idling for sometime :
1) Vigorous Vibration can be felt
2) There will be a screeching sound
3) The fuel gauge move up ( example from 1/4 tank to almost 1/2 tank)
4) Sometimes when there’s vibration, engine will stall

Had gone to workshop and had Timing belt and Spark plug changed but problem persist. If the fuel gauge moves up does it mean that the Fuel tank pressure is high?

This questions should be answered by the workshop you went to. How can Timing belt and Spark plug changed, money earned but problem persists and now you are on your own asking question here??
Which workshop is that? So irresponsible?

My car is a rented car. The workshop belongs to the Car Rental so I never pay for those parts changed. There is no other car available to swap so I still use it. When this incident happen, I will switch off and on engine and will be back to normal for a certain period. It will come back again.

Meaning you rented this for Grab/Uber?

Then all the more the rental company should resolve the issue.

Don't think I have yet to see any Bimmers as Uber/Grab .... haha
Anyway, you are right, it is still the rental company to solve this issues and not the Thread Starter.
And sorry Thread Starter, there are just too many things that can cause those issues you listed. Only the certified workshop can have the proper tools to diagnose the problem.

Hello Zack

Apologies if it seems like we don't seem to be answering your question or helping - the fact is we really can't diagnose the cause of the issues you are facing over the Internet as there are too many possibilities for the symptoms that you are facing. It could also be a combination of issues that contribute to what you are facing, and it would be irresponsible of us to try and speculate.

The quickest and possibly most effective remediation for your problem is to visit the authorised workshop for your leasing company and concurrently request to see if you can send to one of the BMW Specialist Workshops we have listed in the forum. You are paying them a leasing fee for a service, and its what they are supposed to do.

Hope that helps, and enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Thanks bro for the advices. Yes, I will send back the car for diagnosing. But I won’t be able to drive because no more car available. I just post this, just in case someone have the same experience and will like to share so that easier for the workshop to tackle the problem and I can drive again after the fast fix. I am worried about the fuel gauge moving up when this happens. Afraid fuel tank pressure high which may cause unwanted incident to happen.
