Wait ALMOST over...

I remember BVO tried to do it but failed cos the rear LED lights were flickering like a Geylang whorehouse nonstop.

Besides the LED light cluster, you will need to install the new lights module as well.

Re: Wait ALMOST over...

as I stand by what I said! just get the shell first! the rest can wait!...oh..is a BMW!

Re: Wait ALMOST over...

Yawnz....... ...

Re: Wait ALMOST over...

Yah correct kenntona... Definitely not as easy as plug-and-play. light modules, ballasts - and associated hardware for the adaptive headlights (camera behind rearview mirror) and software (additional coding) would have to be catered for.

Read from f10post that there was an M5 owner who upgraded their pre-LCI with LED headlights. Cost was quoted at something like USD$14k.:whattheh:

Wow. That's steep. For that price, might as well get B&O sound system......guess the poison never ends.....

I checked the requirements for retrofitting on pre-LCI..knn the costs and the time...not worth the hassle. Perhaps its cos nobody knows how to do it yet like last time when pre-LCI E60 wanted to change to the LCI rear and front clusters. I remember BVO tried to do it but failed cos the rear LED lights were flickering like a Geylang whorehouse nonstop.

Aiyah, I believe in 1yr's time or so, some workshop or Soundwerkz or Elebest will find a more economic way to do it...

Mad. I think all-in smelly >20K. You need fenders, headlights, NBT, touch controller, 6WB, that damn chio M sport steering...

Re: Wait ALMOST over...

upz for a very nice steering.

Re: Wait ALMOST over...

Thanks benji ben...

I can safely say that the steering wheel looks better in real life than pictures... Had seen many comments from abroad in other forums saying that the new M-wheel looked 'open' and less classy then then previous - which i admit from photos seemed to be the case.

Once you're actually in the car though, it seems to just 'work' with the rest of the car - the additional space does make it easier to view the dashboard cluster.

On the dashboard - I can say that the major reason I ordered the 6WB with the car was because I didn't want to look at the mph reading on the OUTER ring (for PI cars)... Something I couldn't accept - so I ordered the 6WB knowing that the chances were better than I could simply change the units - either via iDrive menu options or the services of one of the site's sponsors (Elebest, etc).

Was grinning from ear-to-ear when I simply accessed the iDrive menu and under the Options, just had to change the 'Units' setting to km/hr and as soon as I confirmed, the whole cluster changed accordingly... Pure magic. :D

Wow, great thinking!

Re: Wait ALMOST over...

Hehe... Considering the 343M (Thanks MW) - But honestly, since I do a fair bit of travelling (about 3,500km/month), was thinking the trade-off against ride quality - although the argument about running non-RFT on 20's then comes into play.

Then of course, you'd need springs (even though the M-suspension is low, may not be low enough for the 343's), BBK, etc...

Let the Poisoning Begin.... ;)

I think your current rims look decent.

Re: Wait ALMOST over...

Honestly detach8, was taking a chance on that front... I only was hoping the odds would be better going with the 6WB rather than the 6WA (although the fact remains to be seen if the 6WB in real-world situations can match an analogue setup).

Hope this helps anyone in the same situation also consider the following! I'm just glad the fix worked out as easy as it turned out to be :)

Re: Wait ALMOST over...

At first I thought the automatic radiator fins have been removed from the F10 LCI, but after looking at your car I think it was only done for the Singapore F10 due to the hot climate here.

More safety, comfort and driving pleasure thanks to BMW ConnectedDrive: fully automatic Parking Assistant and Driving Assistant Plus including Traffic Jam Assistant.

The BMW ConnectedDrive range of features is set to gain even further in appeal and variety in autumn 2013 with the introduction of a fresh round of innovations which further enhance comfort, safety and therefore also driving pleasure. The optional Driving Assistant Plus system now also includes the Traffic Jam Assistant function, and the new generation of the BMW Parking Assistant also makes its debut – likewise on the options list.

Traffic Jam Assistant increases comfort in stop-start situations on motorways. This system maintains a pre-set distance to the vehicle in front and slows the car to a standstill. It also actively takes over the steering, helping the driver to stay in their lane (provided they are holding the steering wheel with at least one hand). The version of Driving Assistant Plus with this new auxiliary function will be available for all BMW 5 Series models from November 2013 and for the BMW X5 from December 2013.

The fully automatic BMW Parking Assistant – which will be available for the first time from autumn 2013 – also boasts extended functionality. This system helps the driver to identify and drive into parking spaces positioned parallel to the road. The new version of the Parking Assistant not only carries out the steering movements required to reverse across into the parking space, it also controls the accelerator and brake pedal and selects the correct gear – all the driver has to do is activate the relevant turn signal indicator and hold down the Parking Assistant button, and the vehicle will glide fully autonomously into the parking space selected. The fully automatic Parking Assistant will be available for the BMW 5 Series Sedan and BMW 5 Series Touring from November 2013 and for the new BMW X5 from December 2013.
