Was I ripped?

Hey peeps,

Brought my car for servicing last week.

Was advised to change my Alternatin belt and tensioner once it hit 50k. Is it really neccessary? I was quoted close to $400 for the change.

If I were to change the whole set of the belt, do an engine flush and the normal servicing stuff, it wld cost me $600 plus.

Look damn ex to me or is this normal?

Believe it is not a must to change unless necessary like the belt is cracking. Whatever the case, I think 400+ for a belt and tensioner change is excessive. Let me guess... PML?

Actually, i didnt notice the workshop name.. it was recommended by a fren.. think its run by a ex pml staff..

pml quoted me $400+ when i brought the car in for a whining noise. 36,000km 1.5years old. juz insist on not paying and asked for black and white on their diagnosis aka wear and tear. pml honoured warranty after tat

Said to be specialist in BMW and Merc.
Located at AMK Industrial Park 2.

For me, I won't go there cos you will going back very often.

I was recommended by my SE to go there last week to change my Break Disc and Pads. I called them, and they seem to be able to quoto very reasonable price for the entire change of the disc and pads. But now, will need to review this again.

Considering either Boss or R2D.

I just put a Gates racing belt on mine, nice blue one, cost me 30 bucks
