Water marks on glass

Sharks!
After washing my own car and wiping dry the windscreen, I noticed there are some water mark look alike on my windscreen. Damn dealers never clean up the windscreen when I drove the car out from his showroom.
Anybody has a good method of cleaning and not scratching the glass.
Anyway I just bought a 2nd hand BMW 3 series.

Anyhu, if you're lazy to DIY send it down to Spa4Cars at Telok Kurau. They might be able to help

Opps.. Meant to say shucks..
Send it to them just for the glass? Anybody has a more economic DIY method? Would not mind DIY..

Re: Water marks on glass

i suspect the marks may be caused by dried wax if the dealer used those wash&wax type of shampoos and then forgot to wipe the water off.

if that's the case, just tahan for a week and it should be gone. for more immediate result, you can try rubbing vinegar over the mark and see if it works.

Re: Water marks on glass

The best DIY method for cleaning glass is crumpled newspaper.

Re: Water marks on glass

Wan Bao paper is quite good...
Once done, then wipe off with soft clean cloth and voila, it's new again.

Re: Water marks on glass

Newspapers causes smears on windscreens........... trust me.......

best DIY solution is the Autoglym (i don't sell autoglym) Glasss polish.

Re: Water marks on glass

For a moment tot you look for pple like myself.. .. ahemm..

Try a proper glass cleaner and use a soft towel.. usually works. You may also follow with used newspaper, wet them first and massage the glass surfaces gently and prolong contact time. The trick is to find newspaper with alot of black print, too much color print not as good. The sulphur contained in the ink is both a good glass cleaner and conditioner... hence, the results are always better than using just cloth and water.

Cheers...

If everything else fails, do try the diluted vinegar as suggested by louis...
Another suggestion is try claybar-ing the watermarks to see if it helps (at all). Some windscreen watermarks are a serious pain to remove, esp around the edges. Gotta try the Autoglym glass polish..
