Hi,

Need advise from seniors on the Mods I can on my F10 523
to save petrol and maybe boost a little power and maybe increase a little response. Thanks
(No mods done at the moment)
;)
U will need 2 things... a Very Steep Slope and Neutral... then let the car roll down the slope, response will get better through time, ride gets faster and faster, bare minimum fuel used :p

Pardon me, just decided to post a lame joke after my proper post below.

Ok, you also have unpronuncable nick like me.... Sustainability and reduce consumption are good intentions but u are driving f10 523 not hybrid 535 or Prius so next time better google and do some research before asking. Cheers

Baby, I wasn't confused but now am. Thanks. Stock is best. Wise words...

Let me try.

Generally thre is an optimal air-fuel ratio (AFR) in lower and higher RPM bands. Lower RPM optimal AFR is leaner than higher RPM optimal AFR (ie higher RPM optimal AFR is richer, more fuel)

It is safer to be running richer as too lean can cause misfire/engine kaput. For this reason, some manufacturers choose to run AFR rich across all RPM bands.

So what the ad is saying is they will tune the car to the optimal AFR across all bands. You will save fuel and get more power ONLY at the lower RPM bands. At higher RPM bands, the AFR is mostly tuned to be richer and thus will consume more fuel.

(As indicated by Baby1M) stock BMW is somewhat tuned across the lower and higher RPM, and you will not benefit from the fuel saving at lower RPMs. The tuning will give you more power, but more fuel will be needed to drive this additional power.

Hope this clarifies, and more power = more fuel.

I can't agree more. And for those FC-concerned bros, I introduce to you the "ai pee ai chee" (cheap and good) way of saving petrol. Costs next to nothing, but guaranteed to improve your FC.

P.S. I only charge one prata and please remember to "Thanks" me for this solid advice.

Off air con ALL THE TIME fc will sure improve. Anyway nowadays a lot of people like that, so no need to pai seh. If scared pai seh hold a cig and put your hand out of the window, then people won't know that you're trying to save petrol. Don't wear long sleeves cos very hot in SGP.

After done that for a month, come back here and tell all of us how much $$$ you've saved please.

Re: what are the mods available to save fuel for F10 523;

No air con... ok.
I know... drive your other non-bmw car.

Not only BMW R&D dept, other Euro brand's R&D dept too.... also WTH are e F1 Tech team doing asking the driver to conserve fuel (relax throttle abit) to last X number of laps, just drop e broquet and no need to relax on e throttle.
