Just realised that want to change Spark Plug, also must change an Ignition coil.

Stock spark plug no expensive. But the ignition coil (6 pices) is a few hundred dollars.

Change one round of spark plugs (6) cost $500..... cost of maintaining bimmers....

Re: What Spark Plugs for E60 525

I was told at 200,000km, gear box will breakdown.

$7K to $8K to service. One-week job.

So better go for regualar ATF flush and change. 80,000km?

Was advised to change around that mileage to, flush and change is about $40 per litre I think, so for yours I heard is 6 litres... I think I'm going to service that soon

Re: What Spark Plugs for E60 525

hoho. Total cost for flush and misc, plus axle oil etc etc etc... about $700.

Re: What Spark Plugs for E60 525

Ask the workshop to test the ohm value of the ignition coils - else you are wasting money. Something else might be causing the un-smooth engine like vacuum leaks or sensors.

BMW original spark plugs are different from the NGKs and Bosch after examining it closely ....... make sure you get the correct heat value.

Called PML & MA for the ATF oil& Differential oil change. Both claimed not need to change, what is the reason behind? Can't be not keen in the above business right?

Hmmmmm... Anyone can enlighten me?

bro, change.

logical thinking tells you to. they claim its lifetime oil, but common sense tells you its not possible.

$3xx for peace of mind VS $8000 if gearbox kaput. you weigh it up.
