What to request during servicing?

Hi all, can we consolidate the few things to ask PML to correct during warranty servicing? I have these in mind.
1> software upgrade
2> noise from door when cruising >100km/hr
3> squeaky sound from rear suspension
4> unable to read RPM from odb port
5>


Anymore more common defects to add? Thanks all..

this is a weird one.

just tell them what you want to make good?

and for the reading of RPM from OBD, you will prob be asked, why do you need to do that?

The updated software should allow us to disable the auto stop function, if am not wrong. Will be going this Friday, will let u know.

Sorry to hijack this thread. I tried looking for topics on servicing and i'm heading no where. I wish to know is there any other recommended workshops for the 1 series and what is the cost like? Cheaper than PML? Thanks.

Dear brothers, how many mileage our 1 Series baby need to do the 1st services ? Mine is already 5K plus. (^^,)

Recommended by BMW Germany, is 12k intervals between servicing, it is stated in your OB info if u know how to activate it via your left upper knob. The ####km means how many mileage to go before next service (it is count down mode).

U can try MA's Triple Service Package which is for 3 servicing trips. It is cheaper than PML 3x service and some workshops. Of course, there maybe other workshops that can be cheaper but I have no idea/info.

All the Site Sponsors servicing bimmers can also service 1-series.

However, if your ride is still under warranty, u have only 2 options which is PML or MA (Munich Automobile), if u still want e warrnaty coverage.

Wil b going back Pml 2 service my car tis cuming mon. Mileage at 8k. Bal only 300km. Opt 4 1hr service. Bt recently buay tahan the door already(dun intend 2 do at first). When getting out of car can hear sound frm handbrakes. Plus after washing my car,found water droplets in my tail lights. Guys,better check ur tail lights s often we dun think theres any problem wif it. Btw,any1 can teach me ying yang finger?? Going 2 poke their table if they going 2 smoke me again. Haha

Hi yang,

I did my servicing on Friday at east coast. Cost $239, 1 hr fast lane. No software update available. Test drive with them at 110km/hr for the high speed rattling sound from window, no solution. End up only friction tape done. Overall, am disappointed with their service.
Anyway, just to preamp u that if u need to investigate those issues, be prepared for a full day there.. They probably test drive with u then tell u no solution...! Good luck..

Hi arrester, yah. Already prepare 2 spend my day there. Tis kind Of problem on n off 1. Bt wil fight my way lah. Imagine water going in tail light. Any problem who going 2 b responsible. So hopefully they dun gv me hard time

I suppose your model is either (i) recommended servicing at every 10k mileage or (ii) forgot to reset at previous servicing so count down not correct.

No leh bro. Mine start frm 12k. Then frm time 2 time it bcum lesser n lesser. Then if u add up used n bal mileage,total only 8k plus. Nt even 9k i nid service liao. Like nw mine i used 8100km. My bal left wif 300km nia.

Anyway juz service it lah. Change new oil better then dun change. Nw engine sounds rough n loud.

Dont get me wrong, was replying to Arrester's question of 'But why our car count down from 9K?'

Oh btw, this count-down is for engine oil change. It is suppose to get lesser since it is 'count-down' mode. What shows (after activate to check) is remaining mileage (in thousands) before next servicing. So if after previous servicing and we have driven 4500km or 8500km, this count-down should show 8-7k or 3-4k respectively, since it only shows in thousands. Also reset after engine oil change.

Are u refering to the very 1st servicing or oil change? I am not refering to that, was refering to after the very 1st oil change :|

Oh. I kua sa la. Paisei. My case is i first took car is 12k. Nw is first servicing,only Can used 8k plus plus nia. Meaning i got 2 service it at 8400km instead of 12k

Same experience as yang. Car delivery shows 12K. But end up service at 9K ( 1st service). After 1st service done and reset, the count down starts from 9K... Very ???
