For E46 Non-M - Rear can go 19" 255/30/19 no rubbing! This will be based on the standard offset for the E46 which I believe is +42 for the rear.
265 will require fender modifications. Still can squeeze but be ready for rubbing over humps or car with pax.
For the ultimate, you can go to Mike and get your rear Cut, Widen and re-modified to M3 rear flare specifications! Then, you can squeeze 285 too. Swee Swee!

huh? why do you wanna go wide(255/265) in the front? That will be a joke not to mention a formula for disaster!
and no, it will not fit.
If you want to make the front look more aggresive, then add spacer. But people do that to clear bbk. Proper way is to get proper offset rims to fit your car when you wanna play staggered. I learned the hard way and wasted tons of cash on freaking 19's and 19's and spacers and spacers.....
Don't waste time. Just go 18X8.5 and 18X9.5 - 235/40/18 and 255/35/18 respectively...Staggered (proper offset) w no fender mod required.

U need to be sure of what rims width you're running.
Most people have 8 or 8.5J all round...only a few go staggered set up.
FYI, 8.5J can max out to fit 255 tires front or back while 8J goes with 245 max
Some people who are in serious tracking puts on 265 on 9J rims in the front set up to get better grip and reduced understeer.
In my experience, 255 on 8.5J seems a bit too wide tho fit-able...225-245 are good enough.
255 will be perfect on 9J whereas 265 on 9.5J
Follow the tire manufacturers chart and u can't go wrong

This is the luma kit, and ye, its too showy, and much too wide... somehow the original e46 front fender suddenly looks nicer
265 for the front... is it possible, with the correct offsets on e46?
Brother BlackStealth, for the 235/40/18x8.5 and 255/35/18x9.5, what is the offsets for the rims? if this is the max width the car can take, this should be a better option than 19" as it gives more comfort and cheaper on the tires too
