Dealer claim no record, first 2 years record with PML almost 50k km, next 5 years only clock 40k km.. suspect mileage rigged....

Did you go into iDrive and check servicing history? If you are not the owner, dealers won't release car history to you. If you asked used car dealer to sent to PML to hv thorough checks and that you will pay for it. Make a trip down and see if they will tell you F2F?

Actually, to be honest.. most impt is the health of the car mechanically. A high mileage unit might not be worse than a lower mileage unit. I’ve seen low mileage cars with a lot of issues because it was seldom driven.
It’s about how the car was maintained and taken care of and this can be checked and verified by a capable mechanic..

And if that still doesn’t make you feel comfortable, like what AC323 said, walk away from the deal. No point debating on whether the mileage is genuine or not.

i read somewhere that the idrive service history can also be rigged. would having the service booklet be a safer bet? of course have to check it against the idrive records.

in bloody singapore run by the PAP, odometer rigging is still not considered a crime punishable by fine and jail. that speaks volumes about our legal system. the PAP government does not care about this aspect as they don't have a chance to squeeze money from the resale transactions, except for the meager transfer fee.
