Anyone knows where to install this new car camera that i just purchased from G-market?
I need to conceal the wire and maybe mount beside the mirror.

by the way just share the deal. very good quality camera from Korea, you can order from Gmarket directly. only downside is that the manual is in korean. Don't even know how to set the time
I am not affliate with the seller. just to share the lobang here.

Re: where to install Car camera

why don't do it yourself? Go autobacs buy 3M black clips and you conceal nicely on the top.
try looking for the instruction online to change the firmware and it can become english!
did that for myself but different camera from yours so can't help.

the firmware is in english, but the instruction manual in korean.
DIY a bit tough la, my E90 power is at the center console. the professional can tap power from elsewhere. I did the same for my GPS. looks neater that way

I see. after you have done, post a pic for us. Will like to see how clean they can do.
I believe you want soundwerkz to link it to the fuse box so that you have power 24/7 ya?
In this way you can do survilleance too.

I bought Finevu 300. Did the same. Wires all hidden. Very neat. Powered 24/7 through car battery to enable parking mode recording.

Will it drain out the battery when power on 24/7, let said go oversea not driving for 1 week.

Hasn't tried that. As far as I know, when in "parking mode" it uses motion sensor which only starts recording when motion is detected / there's impact. Hence it is not "eating" power 24/7.

A rather smart technology I must say. Have no problems with it thus far.

Bros you can try calling my friend, he brings in BlackVue parallel imported, firmware in english and will provide local warranty... price is at least $100 less than local sets - Stanley @ 9811 5412

I've been using for the past 1 year... no issues. I am not running it 24/7 though.

* Admins: I am trying to ask him to sign up as site sponsor but it seems BMW-SG is not taking any more sponsors.

Re: where to install Car camera

hi bro,
I am using blackvue and I gotten it myself from Korea and I did the firmware change myself.

There is this magic box that you can buy and you can do survilleance 24/7.

Recently I found from neighbour who is driving a GTI, he directly connected the power source to the fuse box and get direct current from the battery. With this, he save up from buying the magic box. I guess you will think won't the battery be drained? According to him, he has no issues. He travels a bit and his car is left there untouch 3-4days and he can still start it. Am pretty amazed with this.

I wonder how much your friend is selling coz it costs a hand and leg if you buy from local authorise dealer. The only good thing you buy from the authorise dealer is that you get warranty from him for the unit.

Bro, that is pretty concealed. I saw the wire come out from the rear view mirror box.
I don't think you can totally conceal everypart of the wire unless it is a factory fitted unit which I doubt there is any OEM doing it for now.

I can't say it won't dry out the battery totally. It all depends on your battery condition.

The battery is delivering 12volt and how much do you think the camera will need to power up and do recording. Though it said it requires a 12volt plug but I doubt it uses 12volt.
If that's the case, I don't thinik the battery will be drain out that fast.

My neighbour travels a bit and is able to start his car when he returns. His longer trip so far is 4-5 days.

You can also set a switch to switch if off so that you won't worry that your car will be totally flat when you are back.

Maybe it's just me but the wire looks obvious enough, and may risk deny entry into certain locations.

Yeah prolly need to retro fit something to look like OEM accessories to bypass the security then

It's pretty well concealed. I took that pic off the net. Some people hide it very well. I try to take a pic of mine later.

The camera is not very big. You can do a quick search on the model... BlackVue DR400G-HD

Bro, price abit sensitive to reveal here, but I can tell you right now it's at least $100 cheaper than local distri price. What I told him to do is to always keep 1 extra set for 1-1 exchange warranty and he has agreed, and hence you are in some sense getting "local" warranty for a PI set. He will also flash the firmware for you to English. So all in all I think it's a pretty well rounded service he is providing. The only thing he does not do is installation but you can find your own workshop / site sponsors to do it.

AFAIK, most of my friends self-install. Only one go and ask workshop to wire. If you ask me, I trust myself more than a workshop worker... so you be the judge.

I don't need 24/7 although I wired my parent's Merc into the fusebox... I don't think it's *really* necessary unless you always ken a vandalism. The camera does get pretty hot although it still works. I will not recommend if you park your car under the sun most of the time to have this running 24/7... anything processing HD video of this miniature size will overheat.

The magic box thing is just a low voltage cutoff to prevent power drainage. I think it's not a waste of money if you want 24/7, but like I said, I think 24/7 is not necessary.
