Which Coilover is better or equilvent to Stock

I was wondering which coilover is better or equlivent to stock (E90). I have read from the thread that B16 PSS9 is has proven to meet the comfort ride. I do not track, the reason to change is to lower the car but i would like to keep the comfort ride. This decision will assist me on either 18" or 19" rims.

Would appreicate the bros can share your experience & opinion. thanks!

just change spring... usually coilovers are much harsher... try H&R sport... because i heard eibach very hard

Re: Which Coilover is better or equilvent to Stock

Thank u for the prompt reply! i read that if we change spring & shock only, the ride will not be comfortable compared to stock.

Re: Which Coilover is better or equilvent to Stock

it wont be of course, less height equals less travel. if wife complains, kick her out, haha.

you really cant have best of both worlds in this instance

I have an extremely lowered car back home, my wife so blur, she thinks really comfy.

Re: Which Coilover is better or equilvent to Stock

Ok phil. I guess it conclude that Coilover has a more comfortable ride comparing to stock & aftermarket spring + shocks. Any comment?

No ...........

:stop!:

If u just replace with Eibach lowering springs n leave the shock absorbers unchanged, U will need to wear baby diapers whenever u drive bcos yr bantak will be subjected to some serious abuse by uneven roads, humps:lol2: . Trust me this is not a beng joke, I ve done it. Try driving to say KUKUP and u will know what I mean. If u use eibach, u also need Koni FSD. This was reccomended to me by brother Chickenbackside.

i dont use coilovers so cannot compare/comment. Else, get the BMW OEM Sports suspension which lowers yr car by 15mm(e92 335). Its very nice n comfy.

Re: Which Coilover is better or equilvent to Stock

actually i disagree with beng. i have no issue with lowered springs and even cut springs with standard shocks. maybe thats just me, then again, ive never had a "non" lowered car.

coilovers are way harsher i thought?

Re: Which Coilover is better or equilvent to Stock

I rode in an E92 335i with 20' wheels and KW V2 and its more comfy than my car in stock 17 RFTs and stock suspension.

The KW V2 is really amazing when it comes to comfort.

Re: Which Coilover is better or equilvent to Stock

IMO, if you would like to lower (minimum 35mm from stock) your car, then go for the coilovers, it is firm and comfortable.

Re: Which Coilover is better or equilvent to Stock

IMO,
if 18" wheel = stock suspension
if 19" wheel = MUST lower using watever (Spring/Shocks/Coilover or carry heavy stuff at boot to lower it :) ) but keep the comfort ride, therefore m seeking the experienced opinion.

Cheers!

Re: Which Coilover is better or equilvent to Stock

Just to give you some idea, my car with 18" rims and PSS9 coilovers. Ride is comfort and firm, I like it, no regret.

Re: Which Coilover is better or equilvent to Stock

Thanks for sharing Jadis! Nice done up! Is it better than stock interm of comfort?

Re: Which Coilover is better or equilvent to Stock

Overall much better ! The only thing is you need to lower your car by minimum 35mm from stock height.

Re: Which Coilover is better or equilvent to Stock

Thank u for the feedback, this is the reason why i would change.

Cheers!

Re: Which Coilover is better or equilvent to Stock

if change springs only shocks will be more compressed all times and lifespan of it will definitely be shortened.

Also not sure if camber will be affected...if so will result in inner wear of tyres
