Which polishing company is good???

Re: Which polishing company is good???

Slater and Jack too....its not all abt $$$ even assuming all products are good.
most of the time, its boils down to the experience and attention to details the polishers are. this will determine the end product.....some can boast branded products or even do branded supercars but at the end of the day, if the polisher slacks...the end product sucks....that is why i never like signing packages unless the groomer has been very good all along

Thanks JLMC. Can you PM me on your experience with Starblack? I reckon they are one of the best around?

sorry bro. wat I mean give Starblack a miss, is that its more like promoting/catering for high end customers.
hv not heard any good info abt them, neither any bad news..but in here, quite a few threads say Caz is good. thats why i tried n cfm good. As to how long shine can keep up, so far 2 mths past, i m still satified even with daily cleaning by Ah Ne ..:)
but again First Auto/SS Tay oso pushing 20% discount here..oso some bro say at that shop at Toh Guan, got a few other shops selling some "poison", so can walk-walk..(dont blame me if u ended up some poison)
I know Zainol is good product thru other site.

Esplanade? Been in the carpark a few times but dun see any Groomwerks leh. More like Gloomworks to me. Carpark always so empty.

Groomwerkz is in the Esplanade carpark?

Yes, Groomwerkz Maxwell branch has been shifted to Esplanade Basement 2 carpark since Oct last year. The branch manager name is Marcus. You can get in touch with him at this number, 92281661, should you want to find out more about their grooming services.

Did you do a restoration or just a grooming session? I have some swirl marks on my ride and am looking for some restoration... but after going through their gallery, i was wondering if a grooming job may well suffice.

I have some reservations about using their so called nano wax - i was advised before by the now closed down spa for cars that wax do not last in Singapore type weather and heat

Re: Which polishing company is good???

i opt for the restoration as mine was black with lot of swirl and light scratches, am pretty happy so far, look for Andre he is the man..

Re: Which polishing company is good???

Hi bro C3P0, you driving E46 right?

Any chance you were there just few days before CNY? thought a saw at least one or 2 black e46s there when I was there....

Hi Slater,
I used Groomwerks too, same as bro Marcus. They used to be at Maxwell, but now shifted to Esplanade. Not perfect, but acceptable.

Oh, no wonder I can't get them thru the phone....thanks for the info.

Re: Which polishing company is good???

Did you see any swirl marks after your restoration? I have done a number of such jobs before and found that most groomers used fillers to fill up swirl marks - this tends to be a temporary effect and after a few washes, the swirl marks are all back in their full glory. please pm me how much your restoration job costs. thank you

+1.

Test your groomer by stating no usage of filler-based wax. Example, if your groomer is a Zaino user, try not to use Z5 so that they have to really buff off the swirls, not cover it up. Else, everyone will be good post-work. Question is - can last or not?

thanks for the tip Ken. This would mean standing beside the groomer and monitoring his every move to ensure that no fillers are used.

Slater, Groomwerks package amount to $480 for 4 services. What I found cost effective is their wash package, they have this disc, that members can purchase for $50 which entitle you to 12 washes. That's like $4 per wash that you can go to, to any of their 3 branches.

If you're interested to know more, you can pm me ... I'll help to talk to them to negotiate some form of discount or something.

Good luck on your choice of groomer!

No you dun have to.

Fillers are easy to expose after few washes. So, as long as you make your stance clear (hint that you know what they use on your car), then you dun even need to be there.

Re: Which polishing company is good???

Any groomers around raffles place, golden shoe, capitol square area?

Alot of groomers aer good but finding time to groom car is troublesome. Would be good if they can groom car at the office area in city while u work. After work pick up car. No loss of downtime with car. Got or not?

ABD, that's my concern as well. That's why I use Groomwerkz because they are in town. Used to be at Maxwell opposite my office, where I drop off my car in the morning and collect it back during lunch. They are now at Esplanade, which is 1 or 2 bus stop(s) away from Raffles Place.:)

Re: Which polishing company is good???

i 2nd that. we need a solid one in town. but i lost faith in GW years ago. knn so many nice cars here. if there is a solid groomer i m sure ppl will pay good money.
