Which to go for..

Hi guys.. i've got a buddy who is also looking to buy a used E60 and he asked me a question i thought you guys here might be more savvy about -

btween an early 04 model which doesn't have xenons and active steering (but higher paper value of bout $4k) and a mid 04 model which has xenons and active steering (but lower paper) which would be a better buy? tis is assuming all other factors are bout the same ie. condition, mileage, price etc..
