whistling sound from engine

Hi owners,

I currently encounter whistling sound from the engine. (N52, 523i).

To cut the story short, troubleshoot by loosen the oil cap. A pisss sound can be heard, and the whistling sound is gone. valve cover had already changed suggested by the mech, but the sound still persist.

highly suspect it's due to high vacuum pressure build up from online search. no issue with the breather pipe as checked.

Any gurus here encounter very similar issue. please advise me. many thanks

Best regards

Bro, go to Revol workshop and look for bro Randy he will advice you.

hi guys, sorry for the late response.

I had replaced the whole valve cover. but unfortunately still have the whistling sound.
I tested removed the breather pipe located at the back of the cover near the firewall. no sound after that..but smelly after that due to the fume from the engine. lol...

thank u very much for the inputs..will check it out.

many many thanks

Similar to my previous E60 ride, whistling sound + white vapour can be seen from side of bonnet when travelling. Apparently the rubber seal of engine oil cap was worn and hardened, did not provide a good enough seal. Changed the engine oil cap S$16
