WHOO HOO! FUEL CONSUMPTION DOWN BY 3KM/L !!!!

I know i know ... the topic of how to save fuel...

For the record... I don't. I step on it.. "bo pian.. drv BM where got drv slow one."

But I know driving on 6km/l for years was not the result on driving style...
Something wasn't efficient but we r all clueless and busy, ha... so the story goes...

My Mofo:
Stock E60 525i '06 19" original style 95 wheels + K&N filter (only mod if tt qualifies)

Petrol - Esso 98

Servicing - Regularly every 10,000km


FUEL CONSUMPTION WAS 7.2KM/L dropped till 6KM/L
And NOW, AFTER ALL THE REPLACEMENT, FINALLY --> 9.1KM/L (Max. With Aircon on. Street + Highway)

Juz to share; disclaimer - it works on my mofo.. dunno abt the rest hor...

WHAT I DID FINALLY WITHIN A WEEK:
1) Fuel Lever thingy (cos fuel leaked)

2) Transmission Valvebody Replacement + ATF changed

3) Crankcase Ventilation Valve Hoses + Oil Separator

THE THIRD ONE OR CONBINATION OF ALL THREE DID THE REMEDY
NOW THE MOFO FUEL CONSUMPTION IS STANDARDISED AND RESPONDED LIKE NEVER BEFORE.

But my goal is not to save/minimise fuel consumption by foot pedal... I want the car to perform as per standard. Can't be buying the badge and 218 horses for Sunday driving...

This is a good thread to educate ppl to maintain their rides for optimal performance.

MW is absolutely spot on. Everyone's driving style and everyday traffic conditions can vary so much that it's almost impossible to gather any meaningful comparison between the FC of one car vs the other. If you wanna be pedantic about it, your body weight and whether or not you emptied your bladder before climbing into the car can make a difference.

What kyeong said is right: achieve the best/max potential for your car, the way you drive it.

Having said that, I reckon it's probably time to pay Codewerx a visit. Coz I'm only averaging 13.5-14L/100km (approx 7.1 - 7.4km/L) for my F13 & F15, and the F02 is faring even worse at 15L/100km (approx 6.7km/L) sigh.

Perhaps your army of maids are treating your rides like buggies and driving them around your GGGGCB in first gear when you are not at home!
