Hi guys, I have a copy of Autocar UK edition and it says the E90 320 produces 163hp and sips like a bird :lol2:

Otoh, the local autocar says the e90 320 gives 150hp and gulps like an elephant :singsing:

Does anyone know the reason why local e90s are detuned?

I believe europe has more stringent emmision regulations than singapore, so why the diff in specs for the same car, same engine....

I read Top Gear today and it list 320's as 150 hp but the juice is that they are being offered an upgraded version soon at 170hp. Yummmss.

Sounds good. 170bhp from a 2L NA, that, in the advert said saves you petrol over its competitors

Why does local version give you 150bhp, when many other places can give you 163, or 170 even?

Anyone?

The 163 bhp E90 sold widely in the UK is the 320d, a deisel version. The 320d offer more torque than the 330i (340 vs 300 Nm/lB, only 200 on our 320i). More importantly, the FC is less than a 1.6 litre toyota. Pity we can't have the 320d here.

Oops~!... Just re-read the advert, and yes~!

It is a diesel... :( which we can't get without any significant penalty locally

the 320i inline-4 is not bad, just that it sounds like a diesel, and has less bhp, and torque, and eats more petrol. Not to mention disel is cheaper than petrol locally
