Width and Offset

For staggered setup on a F10, what width, offset and tyre size should I be looking at? I am still considering between 19" and 20" so hope the wheel gurus can advise me the specs for both. Thanks in advance.

Hi bro, was suppose to get this for my car (soon to arrive G30) at 1st but decided to hold back.

(Size and offset for G30 20inch)
Front 20x9J with ET 25~30 wheels with 245/35/20 tires with PCD of 112 x 5 (F10 is 120 x 5) with center bore of 66.6mm (not sure for F10)
Rear 20x10.5J (I may go for 10J) with ET 35~40 wheels with 285/30/20 tires with PCD of 112 x 5 (F10 is 120 x 5) with center bore of 66.6mm (not sure for F10)

Note that wheels for F10 and G30 are different for PCD and center bore but I have read that the offsets are the same. I believe the offsets for 19 and 20 are the same unless your width differs a lot, by width, I mean the "J". Suggest making a visit to AC Gruppen or our site sponsors? They will give you the best advise. Mine is only specific to what I am looking for.

If you intend to buy online and dun wanna go to a professional, the alternative is to look for posts by this guy called "remmib" on bimmerpost in the wheels/tires section of F10. I got my info from reading his posts. Hope this helps your search. Hopefully, you could post back what you found out to share with the rest of us for the F10? Thanks!

Thanks bro for your reply. Something which I don't understand for F10 is why some prefer +1" for the rear and some prefer to +1.5". Any specific guidelines to follow? My previous E60 19" if I remembered correctly is +1" and the offsets are quite standard whereas F10 seems to have alot of different specs.

Im not sure but my guess is its got to do with stance or how wide they want the rears to be? Im not entirely sure too.sorry bro. I know that 285s will fit 10J though.

I guess you are right. I believe the most "correct" tyre size for 20" staggered would be 245/35/20 and 285/30/20 right?

Yup..i would think so.. 245 and 275 is original sizes for the 19" and 20" for G30. why 285 is prefered?...i can't say but its what everyone is using...from the posts i have seen on bimmmerpost

According to tire size calculator, 285 is closest to the original tyre size 245/45/18. However the sticker located at the driver's side door stated 275 as the original size for 20". Don't know why is that so.

Sorry bro, can't understand about 285 being closest to 245/45/18 but just for info...i use the link below as a guide to know or verify whats the original offset...the tire calculator looks fun too but was not able to know how the clearance options work.
.but in any case..its a good guide to know your cars original wheel offset...as long as u dun go lesser for the ET lesser than 3mm,u should b safe...meaning if original is 30..dun go lesser than 27.

What I mean by 285 being closest to original is the speedometer reading.
