Wilwood BBK.

Re: Wilwood BBK.

Nice mod Gab!! Any full side shots of the brake kits as well as some specs?

Re: Wilwood BBK.

I got a friend who drives a Subaru LGT. And he was part of a rather large LGT owners group buy for Wilwoods.
Maybe they resorted to gettting Wilwoods because they didn't want to go the Brembo way and that Stoptechs etc just aren't available for Subarus. But, I am just guessing here.

I would love Stoptechs too but I think they're rather pricey. I would consider Wilwoods if they can fit my not-so-spacious 17" ACS Type III.

If you are keen, I can try asking my friend to ask the LGT-Wilwood GB leader to help out by providing the contact.

The Dynalites have been around for awhile already. The ones I have are the Forged Superlite (FSL).

The FSL is the next best after the Superlite series (either SL4R or SL6R). The difference between them is that the SLxR series have a rubber boot on the piston whereas the FSL does not.

Re: Wilwood BBK.

i just measured my OEM brakes, the dynalite forged are even smaller than my stock.

superlites are 9.5 inches long... more like it, but i don't think they'll fit within 17" stock rims

Re: Wilwood BBK.

Definitely will not fit 17" rims.

Re: Wilwood BBK.

Aren't dust boots recommended for road use? Calipers for race use (Wilwood makes a lot of these) generally do not have dust boots.

By the way, what are the bigger holes on the rotors used for? Looks like the available area on the rotors are not effectively used?

Re: Wilwood BBK.

I hv seen that Legacy GT with Wilwood BBK...looks quite nice.

The brembo Gran Turismo Kit should cost abt $3k thereabouts or slightly less for the fronts...

I am thinking of getting Wilwood or Brembo.

So what you guys think?? Wilwood is a little cheaper.

good stuff........ :)

Re: Wilwood BBK.

i wouldnt get the willwoods. i met the legacy GT people who bougt the 6 pots, and they werent terribly impressed. found they faded pretty quick. get the brembos.. or better yet Stoptech or AP racing.

the other reason i dun care much for the willwoods, is they dont look anything special. :)

Re: Wilwood BBK.

Strange....my friend from the Legacy forum says that they're good. A couple of guys from that forum are using them.

Re: Wilwood BBK.

wilwood, alcon, ap, brembo and stoptech are all good stuff

paint them yellow...........:cloud9: and they will be ........:)
