Got some wind of 'silicon' wipers. Heard they don't harden up as quickly as rubber wipers...anyone got any idea on them?

i was told, in a more accurate estimate that it may jus cost about $40 cos i may have to go PML to change the belt roller...the labour is used for both...

for changing the entire blade, it certainly cost more, but labour should be free. it's a matter of unclipping only. I dont think PML should charge labour for that, but if they do........... then unreasonable.

for changing just the rubber alone, the part certainly cost less, but the installation is more trickly. thats coz u have a real danger of bending the thin metal band that holds the rubber as you reattach the rubber to the blade. all these actually can DIY, but u may end up condemning your new wiper rubber.

so its your call.

Re: Wiper Rubber

this is my first time owning a bimmer... pls help.
Qn : where else can i get the rubber besides PML and $$$ ?

Qn. is installation simple ?

Hi

You can obtain the rubbber replacement at M&Q Tel:67881256. Parts & labour, I think less than $50. As for changing of the wiper rubber, no issue at all, less than 5 minutes job.

To Ryan - the silcone thingy can get it from the Zaino guy. Mr.Chandra Tel:62851778. The cost of the silcone rubber is much higher compare with the aftermarket.

Hope this helps!!

:)

Very much indeed :)

Thanks bro.

actually its $25 for the pair of rubber... the rest is labour. If u go there purely for changin this, it will cost prob about $60 to $70 considering their sky high labour. But cos i m there to do other things as well, they kinda pro-rate it or something.

i will consider changing the whole blade if it makes more financial sense...

Hi guys, hv been told the same thing, that it is easier to change the whole blade compared to the rubber wiper part. Get to know the parts guy at PML and they will most gladly assist with the changing of the blade....at no extra / labour cost.

actually i already have 2 sets of old blades, and i'm going to experiment on switching the rubbers on them. Once I find out how to do it without spoiling the new rubber, then i'll not buy the entire blade next time round, and I'll gladly help bros here change theirs, in exchange for either a 6 piece nugget or fish mcdippers during our monthly meetup.

Wow in tis case then i tink i will find something to specialise in, jus like racebred, keke. Will work for food,hehehe...

Just for info sake, i changed my wiper rubber only... pdt + labour + GSt etc..about $35. Not too bad..Not sure if its bcos i was there to do another thingy, so they kinda pro-rate it or wat.

Frankfurt Auto will cost you $16. Rubber only...fixing is simple..did it on my own tho and werks perfectly. The packaging comes with intructions on how to change the rubbers...

Good Luck!!
