"Wong wong wong wong" sound when driving

Hi guys,

My e60 got a "wong wong wong wong" sound coming from the wheel when driving. Initially I thought its the wheel alignment issue so I bought my car to Stamford for a check. However the mech said that its the car bearing issue. Is it true? Btw the sound comes from the front which is more obvious but the mech told me the bearing is at the rear of the car axle.

Whats the damage to rectify the issue. Thanks for all your advices.

any idea how much is the cost? is the bearing meant for 4 wheels or 1 wheel only? Sorry for my noobquestion cos never heard of wheel bearing before.

Depends on which one is one... ur workshop will prob need to do a visual check.

Cost wise, not sure for BMW bcoz i've not replaced it for my BMW yet.

Tyre condition or wheel bearing kaput liao..

it might not be bearing. might be worn tyres. due to our camber angle, some tyres make such noises.

i had a pair of pirellis on my dad's old volvo that made the same noise.

Don't think its tires problem cos I have this "wong wong" sound after I replaced my new tires with Stamford. I went to 2 different outlet to let them check and both mechanics gave me the same explanation after a test drive.

One of the mechanic say I'm not able to hear the sound in my old tires cos the old tires sound is louder than the faulty bearing sound. The tires noise supersede the bearing sound. Are they implying that those CSC tires are so quiet ?

Any bros experience bearing issues before?

but seriously.. could be flat patch on the tyres
if you 90; 100; 120 kph..does it WONG faster?

Try on a set of used Goodyear Eagle F1...

My 2 weeks old F10 just changed to 20" rim n Conti tires. I can hear wong wong sound from my front too... What is the problem? Can anyone advise pls. thks.

Hi Bro, did you get your tires from Stamford as well? Does the wong wong sound coming from your front tires or from the rear tires?

bearing gone...damage = 400-500 for one pair....
