Would you buy a 535i or a 550i (PI car)

Ok serious answers I need. Dont say if possible 550i of cos ( I know that ).

I looked at the US websites - the new f10 535 and 550 is different in 0-100km/h in 1 sec. yes just 1 freaking sec. Buying from Pi you can spec the car whichever way you like so no diff in accesories. Its the engine.

So would you pay that premium to get a top of the range non M 550i or the goodie 535i. I tested the 535i at PML and it was freaking good. My US friend told me if I get this car and wanted good power to cruise then a 550i and nothing else (of cos he has an E60 550i back home which cost peanuts).

Definite a 550 M Sport. Front bumper damn chio.

For Non-M, i would recommend Alpina B5.

u licence points not enough to enjoy for 550i here.. but i think buy 535i better, mia liao road tax & petrol whahaha..

Get a PI 535i and use the savings to chip up/chio up your car. Get a 550i PI or AD and when it comes time to sell, it will be as my dealer puts it "like animal like that'. Nobody will want to buy....

Equation A:
Big cc + family sport salon = difficult to sell so lost like hell.

Equation B:
Big cc + sport car = still have market and lot of 2nd-hand buyers

Cars under equation A: eg 550i, 460h etc...

Cars under equation B: M5, M6, f430, Lambo, Masa,

How many of us can tahan 5 litres road tax and petrol consumption 8)

+1 very true in SPore on equation A..but if exported half way big CC can command good value

550 = 4.4 Twin turbo.

Road tax is $620/annum more than M3.

550 cos i feel that 535 engine may be a bit rough compared to the V8
and the mountain of torque will enable you to "cruise" very fast

I didnt like the 535 as it drives like a boat. You will have to mod the suspension. If money and resale and road tax all dont matter of coz get the biggest cc you can hope for.

1 sec is a big diff unless you meant 0.1 sec.

buy an M5...settled....

a 550 is essentially same as an M5 except parts aren't reworked / massaged by ///M Gmbh.... oil cooler, differentials, transmission cooler, brakes etc etc....

535i for me.
in terms of looks, its the same for both with msport kit.
for power,both cannot be fully utilised on spore rd.
Going to NSHW ? i go freq as well, unless u drive it middle of nite,
than MAYBE you can have chance to "Cruise"the 550 at 210-230 comfortably,
but that will last only 1 or 2 min before u finally brake becuz of the
many MYVIs and lollies...hence the average cruising speed wld be abt 160-180
which i think the 535 can handle superbly.
NSHW daytime? u can forget it,camry good enuf.

Thirdly, 550 very difficult to sell in future ,pple will tend to swing over to "M".

535 FTW ! practicality for ur daily need and pocket!
