WTB:3 series cabriolet,need advice.

Re: WTB:3 series cabriolet,need advice.

I am on to my 2nd cab and still loving the experience!

The benefits outweigh the drawbacks.

Re: WTB:3 series cabriolet,need advice.

i'm also thinking of getting it but my problem is slightly diff.
I have family so i NEED to put in a pram.

My previous encounters with a Cabrio was for 14 months.
Every evening drove back with top down, windows up, aircon up. not so noisy nor dusty, acceptable. but put down the windows and you'll be asking for it.

Drove a cabrio in Australia too, weather was wonderful but still with windows up becos driving long and fast. in the end , kena sunburnt, haha.

Re: WTB:3 series cabriolet,need advice.

Hi, i myself am considering a 2nd hand e46, just wondering how are the SMG versions? are they as durable as the normal automatics? I know the SMGs on the M3s had some problems which was fixed with the SMG2s, so will i face the same problems with an old smg gearbox? any input will be much appreciated! thanks!

Re: WTB:3 series cabriolet,need advice.

Drove a Z4 cabrio before in Australia. First few mins was fun. Then it started getting annoying cos it was hot. Plus fumes in the face. And I'd rather have cool aircon and a non-oily face than the "fresh" air.. And I did not like getting stared at/the attention it brought either.

Its pretty subjective really :) I'd go for a coupe instead....

Seriously, I reckon you should go rent a cabrio for at least a day in Spore to see if it's your cup of tea... :)

Re: WTB:3 series cabriolet,need advice.

in our lifetime, we will probably own a number of cars. most of the time, not the convertible.

so if u have not owned one b4, and now circumstances permit, you should...it may just be a once in a lifetime experience...

just my 2 cents' . good luck...8)

Re: WTB:3 series cabriolet,need advice.

i dun like driving convertible cos it messes up my hair.

helps with the chicks though.. or so i've heard..

Re: WTB:3 series cabriolet,need advice.

Have to agree with cab_driver, at least try having a convertible for once in ur lifetime! :) My mum die-die don't want to sell her convertible cuz of the fun-factor.
