Re: WTB: E36 320i Transmission computer

you have to press it down and slide it out.. don't force it.. I wish I had a diagram to explain..

shine a torchlight in and take a closer look.. once you see how it's held in you'll definitely be able to remove it.. just be patient, it will come out

OK. I have another problem. I cannot remove the transmission computer, it somehow stuck on the metal frame housing.

Anyone ripped it out before? the one on top of the ECU.

Re: WTB: E36 320i Transmission computer

For benefit of any other owner who might need to replace the transmission computer. The key word is press "down".

I have the pics of the "catch" that is holding the unit up, just need to press down at the connector area and it will release the unit.

Unit is called: GETRIEBESTEUERUNG ( which means Gear box in German, my german colleague say so, google say Transmission Control)
