final ratio for 318 is 3.91.

the final ratio for higher powered 3 series (323 and above) is lower.

not sure, read somewhere i think...

i still have 3.91 rear diff for sale. bought it from just for cars, they said its a hiop thingy. i now looking for 3.38 rear diff, 3.38 comes from 330ci too.

Dave, is yr 3.23 rear diff a six hole one to fit the 330ci manual prop shaft? if it is i am interested. Currently mine is a 3.46 8 hole rear diff and so cant fit properly to the prop shaft. thanks

is this just pinion and ring? of the whole block?

its the whole block, i not sure if can fit onto m3. you can ask seeto from just for car

noob question: how can you tell what's the differential ratio on my ride? is it inscribed anywhere?

it depends what is yr ride e46 or e36 and also which model its is eg 318, 320, 323, 325, 328 or 330.

whole block and yes, it can be fitted! but beware! cos a 3.91 diff is based on a 168mm small housing and a M3 diff is a 210mm big housing. u will fry the 3.91 diff in no time with M power:)

alternative is to change the diff internals to 3.91:)
