kenntona;363073 said:I have done whatever I could on the lighting mods so far:
(1) xenons - E92/3 uses D1S bulbs. I have changed to some aftermarket brand bluish white 8000K. However, the bulbs tend to burn the connectors. I am running Philips 6000K D1S bulbs - full white.....
(2) fogs - size H8. GP Thunder 8500K. Balance of stock still with Mike. 8500K matched my xenons, but does not throw far. I dun drive NS, so I dun really care.
(3) angel eyes - toughest mod of all. A couple of choices. We can installed Brex system - not a simple bulb change (see URL link below). Or we could simply change the H8 bulbs. But do note that E92/3 runs on similar Angel Eyes system as the E39s, not the E46s. In the case of E46, we can retro-fit the AE rings with tiny flourescent tubes running through them (CCFLs). Those CCFLs produce uniform lights on the rings. Our current system has a flaw - no matter what kind of bulbs we change, the outer ring will be dimmer than the inner ring - the bulb socket sits behind the inner ring. I am currently running on PIAA H499 LED system - uniform lighting but not the brightest. I think LUX 5.0 is developing some system for E92/3s.

(4) turning light bulbs - located besides the xenons. Using H3 size. Still contemplating if there is a need to change.
(5) LEDs for interior/licence plate - circuitry problems as reported in e90posts. Lexus style, so not exactly my cup of tea.
That much I have done and waiting.......
For the time being, they are the best, but still a tad too dim. And they cost a bomb....... check with BVO's Bernard.wui525 said:So the best choice now for the angel eyes is still the PIAA ones. Where to get them
Steven, I paid $500 for a pair, installed at SWC (Mike). The aftermarket brand that was in our rides (mine and elmariachi's) is a hazard......stevenwu said:hi Ken,
how much u pay for the Philips D1S ? where to get them ?
I have got Philips D2S 6000k for my former e46 and they did NOT last long as well ? I paid about ~$300+ for a pair from Eng Soon.
So if i go for the cheaper alternative is to buy the H8 bulbs. One pair for each side. which means i will need two pairs right? plus foglamps is three pairs? correct me if m wrong:yikess:kenntona;363207 said:For the time being, they are the best, but still a tad too dim.
