Selling a pre-owned E60 M5 Steering wheel with airbag as shown below :

Right shifter :

Left shifter :

Fitment :
Should fit E60 5 series (push start ONLY). May also fit E61 E63 E64.
Good for transforming the standard V shaped steering to M5 steering with pedal shifts!

Item condition :
It is an authentic pre-owned M5 steering wheel with pedal shifters and matching round airbag unit but in very good physical condition with no obvious or visible flaws.
It has just been opened for inspection and picture taking but has not been installed locally to verify function as my E60 cannot be fitted.

Terms of sale :
Buyer's responsibility to confirm fitment and arrange own installation at buyer's cost.
Sold as is. No returns accepted.

Reason :
Does not fit my 2005 E60 (non-push start)

Pre-LCI with key start cannot fit. I would have installed it if it could!

By key start...you mean regular key or the push start button?

Mine is pre-LCI with push start button already.

It should.

As long as your existing steering slip ring connects to the steering wheel button (black) connector on the left and airbag (yellow) connector on the right. The M5 steering should fit.

Just remove your current airbag and you can confirm if only one or two connections to the slip ring. If only one plug goes to the slip ring, no luck in fitting this beautiful M5 steering wheel. Sorry.

There is one thing to plug and play and there is another to splice and dice with extra connectors and cables....

With an airbag that could safe your life, it is better to avoid any modifications beyond OEM fittings.

I could be wrong...but I read in other forum that the mounting can be different as well between pre and post LCI. This can be retrofitted with modification though, and I saw DIY guide floating around.

To OP: why don't you keep the airbag and just look for the steering wheel that fits your car?

In the interest of sharing fitment of the M5 steering wheel to older E60, the keystart E60 will have the following connections when the airbag is dislodged from the steering wheel :

As you can see, there is only one connector to the slip ring with the airbag connector to the bottom right of the picture. The right slot is empty.

For the M5 steering wheel :

The steering button connector goes into the left slot and the airbag connector goes into the right slot.

From my understanding, only push start pre-LCI onward has a different slip ring that allows direct airbag connection.

The electrical connections are not only the problem, the steering wheel mounting is also designed to be different to prevent wrong fitment.

For those who are interested in fitting this M5 steering wheel and want to do a quick verification, just pop out your airbag with a small screw driver and check your connection. Not easy though.

cause all along 525 doesnt have paddel shift steering
will the paddel shift be able to work?function?
