Can I use this to compare across models and brands for budgeting purposes?

these r on paper. in reliaty there will still be discounts given by dealers. but yes its the worst case scenario if u were to buy them without a discount.

i think its an ok resource and prob the best available.

a few things i learnt from my recent car purchase after surfing sgcarmart for months:

- private sellers are sometimes dealers selling for their "friend"
- dealer prices sometimes require you to take a loan otherwise need to pay a couple k more if buying cash
- if owner is selling directly via sgcarmart the dealer has most likely offered them a lower price so you can bargain

I think this is a site where you can find out the latest 'market' data for cars. At the least, it has quite a number of cars of the same make, model, age, etc., and you can use it to do your own analysis of the market situation. Sometimes, you can spot a bargain or monitor the price movements of a particular car model.

Yep, good site for researching prices of new and used cars. Just to add that depreciation is the yardstick (and your actual cost). The depreciation for the used cars advertised on this site does provide a good reference to :

1) How well a particular make holds its resale value
2) More importantly, how reasonable the price of one car is over others of the same make/model.
