X3 2018 G01 - doesn’t have bonnet insulator

Hi,

Any G01 (X3 2018) owner around?
I just got my ride about 3 weeks back.

It has been good so far. However, I realized that the car does not come with a bonnet insulator...those black canvas below the bonnet to insulate noise. Checked the showroom car, also they don’t it. I thought this is basic, even X1 and X2 have it installed.

Any G01 owner realized this?

I just got my ride last week. Honestly speaking, I don't think it needs it. It's already pretty quiet.

Sorry my bad. I just checked under my bonnet. It already has the insulator installed. Mine is an M40i though.

Thanks! I have indented the order from PML. Just find that it is more complete to have the insulator installed. Don't understand why BMW would want to save cost on this. It is not only help to insulate the noise, but also help to insulate the engine heat from the hood. Else over time, the paint on the hood will deteriorate.

Fixed mine.
Didn’t notice any noise reduction since the car is already dead quiet. But for sure, it completes the look and insulate the hood from the engine heat.
