Your Tyre Advice Pls

Hi All, I'm new to this site. I drive a E90 & changed my RFT just barely a year ago with PML but recently I noticed my right front tyre keeps losing pressure. I've to pump it like every 2-3 days. I sent it to StarBlack for servicing & was told my 4 tyres are balding & should change but they said my right front tyre is not puctured. (a) I thought ppl don't change tyres so often. Mine is barely one yr old. how come so fast botak? how to check? (b)If I change to non RFT, any recommendations?

Re: Your Tyre Advice Pls

Check your tyres and your wheels again.

On your front tyres, check for cuts and inner tyre thread wear. Ask Dennis from StarBlack to check on mouldy builtup as well. Yes, mould can cause slow leak, On your wheels, presumably OEM wheels, check the pressure valves. I have seen a few cases of slow pressure loss from faulty valve stems. If you are running after-market wheels, check the wheel structure, especially in 2-piece or 3-piece wheels.

How old are the tyres when it was installed? It can be new unused tyres, but it could kept on shelves for a long time.

On after-market tyres, it depends on your driving habit and your budget. Renowned models ranges from Michelin PS2, CSC3, Eagle F1 Assymetric, PZero Rosso......

Re: Your Tyre Advice Pls

The tyres were slightly below 1 yr old when they were installed. On mkt tyres, someone suggested I try Yokohoma S-Drive...anyway I dunno wats the diff.

Re: Your Tyre Advice Pls

Lots of differences when you and your car needs these qualities most - dry/wet grip, lateral grip and traction during corner, ride comfort and stability for high speed driving.

Tyres are the only points of contact between your car and the asphalt. I would not save money on tyres and put lives at stake.
