I had the opportunity to try out the Z4M model last year when PML still had one for test drive.
The drive is typical of an M-model, very raw power (its using the E46 M3 engine after all) yet power delivery is smooth. Handling-wise, its quite easy to kick out the tail at corners yet easy to bring back in line, and suspension is firm enough.
On daily driving on local roads, it drives okay. This car is tuned much more for very enthusiastic drivers, so it'll be most fun on the track.
